not sure if its already been posted.... Looks like the aggies are trying to expand the zone and put in video boards Other venues in Texas...TCU's looks bad ***, UNT's is a done deal. The state cooridating board gave the final rubber stamp this week. They start turning dirt in January. LINK
aggy really NEEDS to expand. They're selling seats at half-price, so they need twice as many. wait...what?
That looks absolutely atrocious. 1. They can't fill what they have now. 2. They have less money than I do.
Do they not realize they have bigger problems than scoreboards? Why does delusion run rampant, from top to bottom, at that place?
it doesn't matter what they need. it has everything to do with the fact that they will not be able to sleep while our stadium seats more than theirs. they can't handle it. they're the douchebag who puts huge tires and glasspacks on his truck...they're compensating. it would be really funny to see aggy's athletic department go through a sunset review...they are a huge black hole, financially.
At least they got one thing right...look closely at the first photo of Kyle. From about the 50 yard line the stands are empty! Can you say 75% off tickets? How is it possible to even talk expansion when they cannot sell out their rivalry game? This must be a joke!
the renderings for TCUs stadium look fantastic. really really nice. north texas stadium will look outdated and old in less than 10 years. that flying V thing is weird. the kyle field renderings are dumb. we dont need more seats right now. we need a facade around the outside. kyle field looks like three completely different stadiums depending on the angle that you look at it. rather than spending money on an additional 20k seats that we wont be filling for the near future, i'd rather then hire a decent architect and figure out a way to make the stadium have a consistent look/feel.
I hope aggy does indeed expand. I want them to expand somewhere out of the state and not contract back. Just stay wherever they happen to be. They are an embarrassment to the State of Texas on just about a daily basis.
More aggy seats where you can't see the field... Brilliant! TCU's stadium does look sweet. If they were in our conference that would be the 2nd nicest stadium in the Big XII.
Dollar Bill at it again. I guess he is using all of that money they raked in from the golf and track national championships.
Since decking the stadium (when our boys were in Korea and Ike was in Mamie), TCU has sold out one time. That was in 1984 when they couldnt figure out how to tackle Terry Orr. Renovating is one thing. Adding more empty seats is another. It is unlikely that TCU will ever have teams that are much better than the ones that they have now. They are a legitimate Top 10 team and have been for alot of the last decade and they cant get people to show up to one of the most family freindly (great ticket packages) places in D-1.
I think someone gave Aggy an erector set and told them to design the best stadium they could. Even at that they failed.
Wait, they cant afford to get rid of the sherminator at this point because they're still paying franochio off....and they want to spend millions on expanded? The only thing they'll be expanding in the near future is the right side of their W-L tally.
why don't they just repaint the numbers on the benches in kyle field to make the size of the seats smaller and then sell more tickets? they never sit down or care about how many people are standing in one row. it is the worst game day experience I have ever has going to that POS stadium.
sort of sad that there "expanded" version (which is years off) still looks less refined and impressive than our current version which is already bringing 100,000 per week. sort of sad....
1. The artist that did the renderings of Kyle's existing features was way too kind. Like he/she was trying to polish a turd. It is much fuglier than that in person. 2. Is that the old Texas Hall at UTA? Does anybody know if they renovated it? Or is that a new facility?
The TCU renderings look straight up sweet. Awesome. However, they wouldn't have a prayer of filling that place up.
i think that expanding kyle field is silly given that we cant sell out what we currently have. but on the flip side, it's my understanding that there is considerable demand for more suites, in which case an expansion is warranted. more than anything, as i've said, i think we need an architect to come in to redesign the outside of kyle field.
