Can't really believe it just like Colt. He has been one of the most incredible players we have ever had. And has always been so humble when he makes a TD or an incredible catch, never acting like it was his own accomplishment but a team one. I remember at the end of last year we were not sure if Colt might go to the NFL and if Jordan would get another year from the NCAA. Thank God we had them both for one more year. We will miss you, Ship!!
The Ghost! What an amazing ride it has been Ship. Let's finish out the last three games and then on to win the MNC!!!
I was wondering if this much-heralded recruit would ever shake the injury bug and see the field at Texas. The fact that he has persisted through major injuries to become our leading receiver is testimony to his character. And the fact that Jordan was granted a rare sixth year by the caesars at the NCAA and was able to spend his final year as Colt's roommate and favorite go-to receiver inclines me to think that maybe we had a little divine help in all this.
All of our seniors were indeed just super class acts. Best wishes in the last home game to Sergio, Jordan, Colt ,Lamarr, Ben, Roddrick, Adam, Chris, and Charlie, and all the other seniors. We will miss all you guys and we will have to have some new guys step up next year.
Yeah, no kidding. Remember when he was "The Ghost"? Remember when we recruited him, and wondered, after all of the injuries, whether he would ever live up to all the hype? Well, I believe the questions have been answered. After Cosby graduated, there was a real question about who would be Colt's go-to reciever, although Ship would be the natural candidate. It was spotty at first, but Ship has been nails all season long. I love the fact that the kid is fearless in catching passes and punts. He is one of those rare talents that looks to bust it open for a score every time he gets his hands on a ball. And more times than not, he delivers. Ship is one of the greatest players ever to play on the 40 Acres. On Senior Night and Homecoming at the Kansas game, we need to give him the send-off he deserves. Good luck, Jordan Shipley, in your future endeavors, wherever they may take you. It has been a pleasure and an honor to witness you playing football for the University of Texas.
How awesome would it be to have Colt throw a last-second TD pass to Shipley to win the BCS Championship game? Thanks for being a Longhorn, Jordan.
After that encore, it would also be fitting for Case McCoy to throw the winning toughdown to Jaxon Shipley for the next National Championship (not that I want to wait that long).
Jordan you are my favorite player. Have watched you develop into the best of the best. Can't wait to see where you go and watch you there. Good luck.
I am not sure that even the most devoted Horn fan truly appreciates the level of talent that Mack has stockpiled since he has been here. He has single handidly driven the ags back to their rightful place of medicrocy. The formation of the Big 12 gave the two Oklahoma schools an even bigger recruiting presence here. But what Mack and staff has done is remarkable. Think of the talent level now (2 and 3 deep at every position) compared to McWilliams final team in 1991 (the year we did not score a point in the first quarter). For Colt, Shipley, et al, what a ride it has been. No matter the outcome of this very special season, you will always be Longhorn Royalty.
Reminds me of the cartoon character Road Runner. Except I think Jordan may be a little faster Go Jordan! Win one more at DKR! Hook'em
If you wanna see a grown man cry, look for me & many other guys as Jordan exits DKR. What a football career from his 9th grade till now. I hope that continues for 4 more games at UT & several years in the NFL after that.
Does aggy lament the movings-on of any of its players? Never heard an aggy say anything about stephen mcgee graduating. Oh yeah, they did their traditional throwing-of-the-quarterback-under-the-bus ritual on mcgee last year.
It was sad & happy to watch Colt & Jordan exit the field together. Hope to see those guys playing on Sundays.
i remember thinking toward the end of the third quarter when i heard the PA announcer say "pass - McCoy to Shipley" that i wouldn't be hearing that ever again at DKR.
OK... maybe, big maybe, but not until 2013. Got me on that one. Wait, has Shipley committed to Texas? He is a HS junior this year, right? I guess it is a foregone conclusion.
what do you figure the odds are of colt and ship being picked up by the same pro team? Wouldn't you just want to pick up chemistry that already exists instead of hoping to build some? Ship reminds me of a fast Steve Sargent.
Even from another fanbase, Shipley was always one of my favorite receivers to watch. He made spectacular plays week in and week out the past two seasons and was ALWAYS a class act about it. perfect example was when our linebacker or whoever it was pulled that late hit ******** on him last week and he catches a touchdown to end the drive, he didnt go off and start taunting our defense (even though he had every right to). Instead he caught the ball had his jump of celebration then walked off like it wasnt anything special. great kid to watch play football and i will miss watching him play in orange
I think it fitting that he went off in style with a typically great game against KU. My favorite reception Sat. was the one where the TV announcer said "Interception!", then shortly after corrected himself when he noticed Shipley had caught it as McCoy threaded yet one more needle into his sure hands. He will be missed on the 40 Acres.
