i'm torn on this one. on one hand, he's got serious upside. on the other, he's a small school guy, and small. we've got scott, who is awesome, but sub 6 foot. i like not having deon beasley brandon foster height at the corners.
This one hurts. We need corners badly. Agree more size would be nice. DB in Texas has been way down lately :-/
There is something else going on here. He had all but committed, and then had his feelings hurt. The logical explaination is there was a reason he didn't show up and became pissed that Scott was offered. I guess he forgot it takes at least two CB's. Fear of having to compete happens ever so often, but this one is strange. Hopefully someone is keeping tabs on TCU's FedEx account.
He may not aspire to move on to the NFL. He may still get that chance at TCU but I am pretty sure Akina's resume is solid in this department. Good luck.
tcu's defense isn't chopped liver. frankly, if he doesn't get a texas offer, and wants a second school to learn defense at without leaving the state, can you blame him for choosing tcu?
It isn't going to be much (if any) easier to find playing time on TCU's defense. Sometimes stuff that you don't think matters, matters to these recruits. As hard as it is for some of you to believe, Texas isn't everyone's first choice.
All is not lost at DB. Unofficially, we have these guys coming in this coming weekend. I believe most play or could project at DB: Eric Agbaroji - Midlothian - CB Charles Jackson - Klein Collins - CB Franklin Shannon - Dallas Skyline - S Nick Shepard - Cy Ridge - DB Quandre Diggs - Angleton - ATH Ladarius Brown - Waxahachie - ATH

Would like to see him make it here this weekend and rethink his commitment, but if he doesn't, good luck to him. UT's gonna be just fine in the defensive backfield.
