Ive always wanted to go to Japan. Things on the top of my to-do list would be, Kyoto, Tokyo Ginza, Mt Fuji, go to a sumo match, and hit a lot of sushi bars.

3-24 yr old males would have a lot more fun in Thailand.

Not much to do in Tokyo. See the Tokyo tower, the Tsukjii fish market, a couple of museums....the main draw for me in Tokyo is just walking around and also of course the food.

I've wanted to get to Kyoto, which I"ve heard is nice. You should also go to the ountains and ski...I think it was Nagano that hosted the Olympics a few years back.

Agree with the poster above about Thailand.

Also food / hotels / travelling must be about 10 times cheaper in Thailand than Japan (not exagerrating).

If, however, Japan is where you really want to go for some reason then that is where should go.

Been to Japan several times. Tokyo is really, really expensive. The fish market is awesome. Just get up at 4:30 to get their when they open. Don't bother the workers, enjoy some sushi and beer and all is good.

Kyoto is nice and a little more affordable. Take the high speed rail and have a good time.

PM me if you need more info.
