Is it just me or is the new interface terrible? Here are a few things I hate about it:

    1. It's slow as hell. The lag time between pressing the buttons and the command being processed is frustrating like nothing else.
    2. It automatically assumes I'm a poor fast-forwarder. Even if I nail it, it still automatically rewinds 20 seconds.
    3. It didn't transfer over all of my scheduled recordings from the old interface. Just some of them.
    4. It doesn't let you FFWD at a x4 speed.

Good criticisms. I agree 100% that it blows

Hate it, hate it, hate it. I have the same problem with the fast-forwarding, and for some reason its been recording EVERY episode of The Simpsons and Family Guy, and not just the new ones on Sundays. Any idea how many times those two shows come on in a week?! Needless to say, my memory was filled up with reruns in just a matter of days. Thank you TWC for messing up a good thing.

I hate it and called them last night to ***** about it. Because I have an older remote I can't jump to a date so if I want to see what's on next week I have to sit there and manually scroll forward.
I also had a problem with it not transferring my shows over.
The loss of functionality sucks and I let them know it. The old guide was ugly but it worked. The new one is pretty and sucks ***.

sucks. Can't find out what is currently on if I search by theme. Don't know what NBA games are on currently. Will suck *** when football season rolls back around. Can't fast forward at higher than 2x. The fonts are bigger and have less space, so less information is displayed. The keyboard search is nice, but nothing more than a minor convenience.

Much like all of Time Warners "improvements," it sucks.

    Just awful.

I actually like that they tried to fix how you search for a particular show. The old way of searching alphabetically sucked because if you were looking for, say, Nightline, you have to scroll through all the N's (including dozens and dozens of episodes of "News 8's Non-Stop Weather" and "News 8's Austin Tonight" before you get to it. Oh, and if it isn't on that day, then you have to start over the next day. Very frustrating.

Kinda getting the hang of the new system, but there are a few things (other than those mentioned above) that drive me crazy.
    - If you are watching a live program, but delayed a bit, you can never really catch up. You can fast forward to the end, but the stupid thing will backup 15 seconds when you get there. If you hit the Live button, it changes channels. I have no idea why.
    - Watching stuff on the DVR, at the end of a show, it automatically switches to a live program. Oftentimes, I'm trying to avoid whatever is recording because I don't what to know who got kicked off the island or whatever. But, no. It always switches to whatever is currently recording (if you are recording 2 shows).
    - Why must the Rewind button also backup a few seconds? We sometimes miss text on a screen and want to see what it said. You rewind the 10 seconds to see it and the DVR backs-forward 5 seconds.
    - With the slower fast forwarding, it takes forever to get through an hour or so program.
    - There are a few other things, but i'm getting annoyed just thinking about it.

I haven't tried it yet,but apparently, you can re-arrange the listings so all your favorite channels appear together. That's nice, but it doesn't make up for all the crap.

Wow! I have been pissed about this stupid "upgrade" for at least a week and I see that 'bout EVERY single one of my issues is catalogued here on Hornfans.

Only one you guys missed was one that may only be mine. DVR tonight recorded a generous portion of the LAST Amazing Race. Right up to the time the sooner brothers were looking for a cab. And then...nada.

For some reason I had recorded one version of KVUE News right before the switch. After the switch, I had loads of KVUE News episodes and they are not as easy to delete. AND after you delete, it doesn't go to the next one in line but jumps back up toward the top but not the top...

I was hating the FF but now I just FF into the show and get it close enough. The Rewind is miserable. I tried to pause at the end of Big Bang to read the card and the STUPID DVR bar would NOT go away so that I could read the bottom 3 freakin' lines.

I'm trying to discern if ANYTHING was improved in this upgrade... [IMG]

They really need to upgrade the boxes. I was okay with the software. However the boxes are very outdated. Very limited space. Can't push the program from one box to another. Can only record 2 shows at a time and you have to watch one of them while recording.

TWC has, and will always, continue to suck big donkey balls. My friend's "upgrade" made the sound go out on her TV. It took me about 40 minutes last night trying to help her resolve this.

I've been telling her for months to dump TW and go with UVerse, DirecTV or ******* rabbit ears. Anything is better than TW. I believe the latest pain in the *** development might be enough to push her to make the switch.

If Grande is in your area, go with them. They are cheaper, offer more and have better service.

Agree with the OP 100%. Even my wife hates it and she doesnt really get worked up over stuff like this.

Im pretty good with the FF. Its an art and a science. Now Im trying to time how long I have to FF into the program for it to start exactly where I want. Its a new TV challenge but im up for it.

You can go down and trade your old remote in for a new one. I refused stating that the lines will be around the block and I shouldn't have to spend two hours in line since it's their sucky upgrade that requires me to get the new remote.

I got a supervisor on the line and he immediately offered to send a new one to me via UPS and I am returning the old one in the same envelope using their return shipping label.

My biggest quip is the new unresponsiveness of the box. At times, the box locks up when displaying channel information. Also, the screen blanks out for 2 seconds or so when changing HD channels. I'm no technician, but my suspicion is that the boxes are not powerful enough (memory or processor) to handle the new OS.

I just figured out that when you have the guide up and you want to jump ahead up to 7 days you can just enter the number of days you want to jump and then hit the right arrow key and it will jump you that many days ahead so you can figure out what the heck HBO is showing on Saturday night.

My hard drive just crapped out on my DVR after the update.

I believe it is no coincidence. It committed suicide.

    NEW COMPLAINT Division.

So the damned electricity blipped on me during last week's lightning storm... AND ... the freakin' DVR "reset" on us. So, all of those damned KVUE news shows were recording again and I was getting 4 EACH of the Daiy Show and Colbert among others... which of course, kept the FULL DVR from recording WHAT I WANTED IT TO RECORD!!!

Nice thing is that, with the "new" Customer Service, I got to completely clean all of these out of the system by the time I finally got someone on the phone 20 minutes later who told me that he'd send me a manual for the new system. Other than that, not so much service. Course, I was asking him to get rid of the "upgrade" and give me back the old system. [IMG] Just needed someone to talk to as I was going through and cleaning up the damned DVR AGAIN...

Love to have skip to end back but I'd settle for 4X SCANNING!!! Should be getting that manual any day so I'll let you know how to FF at the fastest rate soon as I've had a chance to peruse....
