..."Lone Star" premiered on Fox Mon. night and the ratings bombed despite universally rave reviews from critics. They are about to pull it. They are going to run the 2nd episode next Mon. night. Just watch. The show needs eyeballs and creator/writer Kyle Killen lives in Austin. When he commutes to LA during the week he stays at my son's apt. Why do I care? The creator/writer of the series is my son's best buddy from USC film school. He's a great kid and a very talented writer. (He also has a movie starring Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson that's not being released because of Gibson's idiocy). Anyway, as a gift for your help, follow the link to one of the funniest blogs you will ever read. It's Kyle's appeal for a miracle. I guarantee you will enjoy it. And watch Monday night. I will definitely give it a try, but Fox killed that show when they put it in that time slot. Monday nights are packed with great shows, and it's hard for a new show to gain any traction at all, IMO. Anyway, I hope it works out for your son's friend. The show really does look interesting...
I don't watch much network TV, but I will certainly check it out. Here's a link to a petition and other things one can do to try and save the show if anyone is interested - Lone Star: Petition to Save the FOX TV Show
The show looks great. I figured when I checked in to it that I'd want to help a guy get his ****** show to stay afloat but after reading up it really looks good. If I tune in and like it and they pull the plug, I'm going to be pissed at you, Shark Wikipedia entry
I DVR'd and watched the first episode...as I'm doing with the next. I enjoyed it. There is a lot of potential...and I like Texas getting some TV love.
I tried to watch and I know sometimes if you watch a few episodes you get into a show, but it didn't grab me. The characters were very unlikeable immoral con men, I hate people like that.
