http://www.mystatesman.com/news/spo...asketball-season-tickets-going-up-an-a/nks2M/ Another bold move by Patterson. I am hopeful that we will make the tournament again with Coach Smart and all the juniors and seniors coming back. However, I am not expecting a Big 12 championship season. In fact, I am not expecting a serious run for two years while Coach Smart rebuilds the program. I think most people are in the same place. Patterson is not most people. I think it is unlikely that increasing ticket prices despite not having big seasons the year before in football or basketball will be good for attendance.
After we regress from a 2014 CWS deep run to maybe missing the playoffs this year, Patterson will increase baseball tix prices too. This guy flat out does not care a drop about Texas fans and the product justifying price increases. If the spreadsheet says price increase revenues will exceed lowered attendance losses, it's all good. Really enjoying the new, detached dictator AD.
Patterson probably banking on the hire of Shaka to offset season ticket holders not renewing. Question for any in the know - I looked at my basketball season ticket renewal page and it included a grandfathered amount. Where did this come from? The grandfathered amount listed for my football season tickets included my basketball tickets.
Patterson strikes while the iron is hot and hopes for the best. New coaches in football and basketball, that have created a positive buzz, and renewed hope for success fairly quickly. Baseball team goes to Omaha, despite major flaws. So he strikes again, that one may blow up in his face soon. Will he accordingly lower prices at times? I seriously doubt it, but time will tell.
----------- Precisely. That's EXACTLY this idiot's thinking. And, yes, he could care less about fans who have been loyal to football, basketball and baseball for 20 years. StevieP, the Anti-Christ.
Those of you who are season ticket holders should have received an email with a survey about the pregame Lonestar room experience. After going through the survey, it's also a measurement of how many of us are going to renew our season tickets. Anyway, the survey is an opportunity to express your unhappiness with Patterson - not that it will do any good in the short run. But hopefully, the survey results are being read by his bosses.
Shouldn't it be "he couldn't care less"? If he has room and space to care less, then doesn't that mean he is caring, at least to some point? If he couldn't care less, then he just flat out, to the max, doesn't give a flip. There is no care whatsoever in him at that point. Right? Sorry, but my wife and I debate this often. As you can see, we're real intellectuals.
