TH ain't at UT for the love of UT. he's here for the paycheck. Most of these current kids aren't here for the love of UT, they are here for playing time. They do not represent my university. They are not STUDENT-Athletes that deserve our support win or lose. They are mercenaries in a semi-pro league. We've all screwed up college athletics so much in the last 20 years and what we are experiencing now is the consequence of treating 19 yr olds like gods just because they can run the 40yd 0.1 faster than the next guy. It went to their head and they thought they could hold the fanbase over a barrel to get their way.....F- that. This group is not Longhorns. They are crappy students that we let in on Academic waivers because they could bench 400 lbs. Longhorns are... the actual academic students. Longhorns are the actual alumni. Longhorns are not this crop of non-UT prof's. Longhorns are not this shitshow of University leadership. Longhorns are not this crap pile of team.

No hot young coach gives a rats @$$ who failed before them. Ego and $ will always attract em ... and it should, god bless em. That said, I want a proven winner ...no more try outs

Went to my first game at the age of 9, got two degrees from the school and have been a season ticket holder for 25 plus years, for fifty years my Saturdays in the fall have always revolved around Longhorn football even when I moved out of the country for six seasons. I sat through 66-3, 63-14 and 65-13 and my loyalty never floundered. My loyalty to Texas still hasn’t waned but that is different than loyalty to a coach or a particular group of players particularly this coach and this team or at least too much of this team that refuses to sing the Eyes (and yes for me that is redline) and has no loyalty to the fans and traditions of the University.

This is an interesting perspective, but one that I can't quite understand given the fact that it's the current Texas administration that has not only condoned but also encouraged these actions.

Let's say TH was working the media for the benefit of some players. And it's all just a way to "keep" the team. Do you really believe what he said was "the right thing"? In other words, do you think that TH's approach was the best one he could've taken in the situation?

I don't see how blaming UT football fans for social problems helps his cause. Because whatever points he scored with some players, he ended up losing a lot more fans, alums, and boosters on the flip side.

IMO it IS possible to keep the players while at the same time staying close with the fans. It just takes some nuance. And the ability to work the press. Unfortunately, as with other incidents in the past, TH hasn't demonstrated the ability to do that.

Same here, Worster. I don't know of many fans who would not be there for a player or players if needed. I was pissed at Tom's message. Besides, the players are tucked away in their own world so the only time we see them is on the damn field. Not like fans have access to them as Tom implied. So, I doubled my contribution to the School of Business and sent the bare minimum for the Football program this year. May do the same next year as well. Not going to stand for the ******** from some temporary coach, who has produced only one good season out of 3 and from what I've seen the last two games, it may be one out of 4 seasons, when he needs to tend to business and put a dynamo offence and a wrecking machine defense on the field. We're paying him $7mil for 6-8 win seasons. He should just shut the hell up and focus on getting this team into the playoffs and NCG at some point! At this point, I don't believe he's capable of doing that...

No, I don’t want Urban Meyer. You have no guarantee that Meyer would win championships here. Yes, he won at Florida, but his program was out of control.

I want to win. I won’t sell my soul to the devil to do it.

    I support TEXAS.

I do not support Marxist football players who race blame.

I support men who play a violent game as hard as they can with intelligence and awareness.

I do not support anyone who is using Texas Football as a platform to something else.

Yeah, he won at Florida. 2 MNCs. Oh, there was that one MNC at tOSU as well, but why count that?

Ohio State...7 seasons...6 top 10 finishes, 5 of those were top 5 finishes.

Myer may be a lot of things, and of course that may be because we all are Texas fans, and let's face it, we don't really take kindly to coaches from any other team around here. He may not be a bad guy. Going out on a limb here. But he can sure as hell coach.

So, if Myer comes, doubt it, I'll be back on board and won't miss anyone who leaves just like I'm sure no one cares that I'm soured on TH and all of UT right now.

Can't see Myer coming here. But Herman needs to go! Too many mistakes and poorly executed scheme.

    What about Pat Narduzzi?

I support the Texas Longhorns. That’s win or lose, rain or shine. I’m also on the Tom wagon unless and until he loses more than 3 games this year. If that happens, I will still support the team, but would like a new coach at that point.

There are some obvious areas that need improvement. Take the defense and halftime adjustments. Pointing out the obvious does not equate to not being a fan.

Been a horn fan since I was nine in 1969. Graduated 1982. I will always be a Horn. But, I am tired of the mediocrity. I am tired of being embarrassed. Now....I suppose I could get used to losing...but I never thought, as a UT fan, I would have to.

I'm done. I was on the fence and apathetic but today was it for me.

Herman thinks he's a players coach smarter than anyone else. Instead he is a divisive coddling ******* who has no idea to hold players accountable nor handle a program like Texas. His mensa **** worked at cougar high, but he is out of his league here.

These are not TEXAS LONGHORNS. They are pretenders who can't play football. Herman is a gutless loser..... Will be lucky to win 4 or 5 games... FIRE HIM ASAP !!!!!!! He should have gone for 2 before the third OT. Why not ? You gotta go for 2 from there on out anyway, and your defense is dropping like flies. Why not...Go for two and win it in 2 OTs..Shouldn't have been in the game at the end anyway....OU tried to hand Herman the game and he couldn't take it.

    Urban Meyer:
    3 National Championships
187 wins against 32 losses in 17 seasons (85% winning percentage)
    13-3 in bowl games
This is Knute Rockne in the 21st century.
Saban has more wins/titles but if there was a Mt Rushmore for modern college football coaches, Saban and Meyer would be 1&2.
I think when I've mentioned this on other posts, Sabre? may have mentioned Bud Wilkinson.

Last year I argued more with Majestic regarding TH. I’m laying low this year. Texas has the guns to go 9-1, 8-2. We have to go 6-0 here on in. Then I’m good. Hard to forget last summer but I can because he couldn’t lose his team. But what bothers me is he laid his credibility on the line to be a players coach. Now, they play like entitled brats flexing and laughing down 14 points to OU. They are entitled as a team. It didn’t sit right with me when he got that UH diamond studded grill after one season. He came here very unproven and inexperienced. Now it shows. 6-0 and I’m good after the season. Those are my terms.

Sam, Ossai and Roschon are the only players that really go all out all the time IMHO. The rest of the team pretty much ranges from "average" to "why am I even here."

It's become unwatchable for me. I can find other ways to fill those three hours that will bring me joy instead of constant frustration. And I was at UT in the mid-80s when we absolutely sucked, but at least we knew those teams just didn't have a lot of talent. This team should have no excuse.

Uhh yeah, about zero chance of winning out.

    OL resemble human tacking dummies.
    RB are slow and fumble.
Entire defense save Ossai is terrible. Blown off the line of scrimmage. DBs can’t cover or tackle. They do strut and act all macho after a big hit after the receiver catches for a first down, so there is that.

OK, then if were 7-3, 6-4, 5-5 after the regular season I will be behind a search comitee for a new coach and will compare him very much to John Mackovic.
