The little head trumps the big head 99% of the time, but the big head should make the right decision also.

4-star OLB Rian Davis (6'2,233) will OV to UT June 15th weekend
He is the #11OLB nationally per the 247 Comp. He is in Florida now but played several years in the Houston area, and is open to returning for college.

Could we possibly steal one out of Charlie Strong's back yard? What a coup that would be.

Would you rather play in front of 95.000-102,000 or front of 100 people? Strong's team could not fill Smithville HS Stadium

I think they literally play in Charlie’s back yard, just behind the line of shrubbery and crepe myrtles

I can't figure out what exactly is the strength of Charlie's resume? :idk:
I think at this point it is probably his media-driven "martyrdom" if anything at all.

Just in case folks were unsure, I was trying to be sarcastic. That doesn't always translate well to the typed word.

"They say" the visit went well. He is friends with Woodard and Jamison
Holland says "It's safe to say Texas hit a homerun tonight."
Cooks says Shepherd said he wont visit aggy this weekend as originally planned. He’s gonna see some other schools and plans to get to College Station at some point this summer, along with Georgia and Bama.
    So, its not over

Up til this point....as far as head to head battles go...they've got a few we've got a few - usually with multiple teams in the mix. The way things are trending between us and ags feels like spotlight is heating up on who has upper hand (I believe we do) and this particular battle ...currently sitting at 50/50 per 247 seems like one you want to win....

Depends on your definition of upper hand. If you believe all of the people paid to guess, aggy has the best player in the State plus one almost as good. Texas, on the other hand, has better quality across the board.

Once again why is Herman giving North Texas to ou and aggy?

Good post...and good question posed at the end.
The upper hand I am referring to is a program I believe will prove to be more marketable and resonate with the right kind of recruits...as well as one that will prove it more on the field.

I've always heard that NTX is advantage OU because it's closer of a drive to Norman than to Austin so the parental units might like that.

Dallas is about equidistant between Austin and Norman SUX.

Getting a commit from Shepherd (as some were suggesting might happen last night) would have bumped us up somewhere around #5 or 6 in the 247 team rankings.

Interesting... I've never thought of that.
I could definitely see it being an easier drive in and out of Norman seeing as how there is nothing and no one in Oklahoma to slow you down.

He sounds like a guy that will take a lot to sway away...though there are some other heavy hitters in the mix and who knows what all goes on...

Not sounding so good on Bragg now, according to Wells
    Stanford a real player now
Among the parents, the mom is pro-tree while the dad and some other relatives are pro-Horns

    A reported conversation --
When the mom wore the Stanford sweatshirt to one of the camps, I asked her "Do you want Branson to go to Stanford?" Her response was something like "Why wouldn't a former valedictorian, New Mexico player of the year, state record holder in discus, 3 sport full scholarship college athlete who graduated summa cum laude want her son to go to Stanford?" or something like that.....
