As was mine. I was in a local (SA) trivia session on Sunday and a topic included our group trying to figure out if Texas State was part of a system, or was a solo. I thought TSU was part of a system; checked it out later, and sure enough TSU, Sul Ross, Sam Houston, and Lamar together are the primary members of the TSU System. So, I recalled this thread and checked out UNT and read up on it. I admit before that I wasn't sure, I seemed to recall that NTSU was outside of the UT System, but thanks to the Google Machine I got edjumacated on it. Beyond that, found this, looks like UNT and UTSA are building a rivalry: Don’t Call It a Rivalry: A Brief History of UTSA vs North Texas Of course aggy has already played UTSA --- I couldn't find out if aggy has played UT Perman Basin, UT Tyler, or UT Rio Grande Valley (however, UT Austin baseball played UTRGV this past year --- the game in which McKenzie played all 9 positions). Anyway, sorry to burst a balloon on hoping a UT System member might rip the aggys a new one. Maybe even better that a state school NOT in the UT System does it. But, with UTSA's budding program, since UT Austin and aggy aren't playing a regular season game against each other, maybe we can hand off aggy to UTSA to beat the aggys for us. Go Mmbeep, Mmbeeps!!
UNT used to be part of the Texas state system, but they now have their own system. The Texas state system now has 7 schools. STU, Lamar, Sam Houston State, Sol Ross, and a few others.
When NTSU was leaving the Texas State University System (unlimately to become the University of North Texas) they aksed for "Texas State University". The TSU System said no because they did not want confusion between the "System" and Texas State University (i.e. North Texas). When SWTSU became TSU several people who were in the effort for NTSU to become TSU were so pissed at the "System" that they had to be "sent to other endevors outside of the University".
I feel kind of sorry for Reveille number whatever. 10 years, dog gonna go tits up before too long, never to have seen those glass doors open to put anything in there.
7 So my wife posted this graphic on her facebook page at about 7am this morning specifically for her obnoxious agroid friends. She was convinced that somehow they would spin the SEC thing trying to explain things. So far she's had several people say that it isn't correct and she has asked them all to point out specifically what is incorrect. So far? Crickets.
It's really hard to be an aggy.... I suspect miserable at times. You live in a fantasy world of "potential" or thru others (Bama). You embellish your perception of success / accomplishments. Lifetime visions of granduer. People in Texas have made jokes about your cow college and culture for years and years. Daddy UT has dominated you in all sports for over 100 years. In the SWC & BIG XII you win a conference championship every 10-20 years in one of the big 3 sports. In the SEC aggy has yet to win a conference championship in any men's or women's sport - correct me if I'm wrong. Perhaps Jumbo will begin to change the mediocrity in football, but i have my doubts. We will see.....
It's funny, now that they are in the SEC, the rest of the country will finally understand what Texas fans have always known. They are a pathetic bunch.
Tech may soon finally break into the winners' circle on that chart in basketball or baseball. That would leave only one team with all zeros.
Now it's 10:22pm and not one Aggy with evidence of incorrect stats and commenting has come to a halt except for one aggy who said she was "keeping it classy I see". Wow, that's the best trash they can talk? Facts have always been an aggy nemesis. However she did get this gem not long ago: You should add tennis, volley ball, swimming and of course equestrian!!
A&M has won an SEC Tournament in baseball and a regular season conference title in basketball. Honestly, the SEC is worse than the Big 12 in both of those things so that was not unfathomable.
How could we / I be so foolish to overlook Meat Judging! I suspect aggy has dominated SEC Meat Judging and prolly won some championships!!!
Tceh was usually better than aggy in meat judging. Not sure if they have any rivals in the sec though
That's why none of the Big 3 indoor livestock shows in Texas use Aggies as judges. Sidebar, I sometimes wish they would because those guys from State Penn are weird. Worster, you should include pasture and range lands judging. Aggies do that really well, but have frequently asked me to serve with them.
Maybe they can put replicas of all of Bama's NC, sec west, and sec conference champ trophies in there.....Oh CRAP! I may have given them an idea to run with. My bad.
