Seriously, this was a drop the mike analysis. Loads of work put in. I still don't get the aggsy constantly wanting to look at history from a specific date? It isn't like Texas played by a different set of rules than everyone else. Scholarship limits? They took just as many players as Texas did. Integration, they both integrated about the same time. Letting women in, not sure how that makes a difference, it's not like there were no women in the whole city. But if it's the game they wish to play we can do the same, Since the Big 12 was created. Texas, in the 15 years the two teams played each other, Texas was 10-5 against the aggsy. In the 5 losses the average margin of loss was 7 pts. In the 10 wins however, the average margin of victory was 21.5. Only 3 of the 10 were less than double digit wins. In that time, the aggsy had 1 win by 10 pts or more, and that was in 1997. They beat Texas by 11 pts. Texas had 4 wins by 30 pts or more with the largest margin of victory being 40 pts.
Using aggy logic would discount their 1 and only nc in 1939, well before we won our first. Aggy thinks just by saying they are better than UT makes it true. There are no facts to back up that aggy is better than UT at anything, academics or athletics, except for a couple outliers.
Any "comparison" between Texas and A&M has to use very narrow criteria in order for A&M to seem like they're on equal or better footing than the flagship. Something along the lines of "square footage that you can't walk on because the grass is a memorial" or "number of scoreboards for dead dogs per capita" are areas in which A&M will forever be beating Texas. There are other areas with a racial/socioeconomic/political tinge that I bet a few of the West Mall posters would get on board with, but I'll save that one for another day.

This poll has LSU, an 8-3 team at No. 9, that just got SWEPT, somewhat convincingly, 8-1, 8-4, 7-6, by a Texas team now at 12-3, that just last night beat their (USA Today) No. 5 Tree, at Tree, 4-0. And USA Today has Texas at No. 11, below both highly ranked (by them) teams they're beating. So much for what a poll is worth by an airport/hotel rag like USA Today.
Online is showing that the poll was published 3/4, so voting likely did not fully take into account the games discussed. The NCAA site shows Texas ahead of LSU despite Texas now being 12-6 (and with two losses to Stanford). This early in the season, in ANY sport, however...rankings are meaningless.
Not sure it's a journey at all. A&M and Arkansas are pretty similar, much more so than either fanbase would ever care to admit.
I'll never forget watching that game and seeing aggy perform that live and in living color... IIRC, Tech went on to score a TD and beat aggy with less than 1 minute left. aggy went into full meltdown...
