AMD vs Intel

I am buying a new HP desktop. Which way do I go? Or does it not make a difference.

What are you planning to do on the new desktop? For most things, I doubt you'd notice a difference.

 

Surfing, email, photos, office applications. I'll be setting up a wireless router for our work laptops. Internet comes through satellite.

 

Yes, satellite sucks, but its all that is available other than dial-up.

 

I would say go for whatever's cheaper. Usually, that's AMD.

 

Thanks for the quick responses. I went with the AMD machine. Besides being cheaper, I was able to customize the AMD machine more to my liking.
