They will take it literally and ignore the intent because it was their intent all along to discuss gender issues openly. They will never agree. So it becomes an exercise in the absurd. They do not consider gender identity to be about sex. They consider it to be as benign as discussing one's elbow. What they ignore about same-sex marriages is that it does possibly prompt children to think about the sleeping arrangements. I don't know that my kids thought much about that in the first grade (it's been so long ago) but as I was saying, any comment by a male teacher such as, "My husband and I did such and such over the weekend" will theoretically prompt "thoughts" in the minds of the children and by extension a question that fosters a discussion. So that is the type of literalism they are now using to combat this law. That's what I was trying to say earlier on this subject.
I like how they go to “gender” theory as if people are the same as gendered words. Does every sexual identity and/or fetish have to be named with their own pronoun? Further, note the letter is threaded with victimhood. So much drama.
