Despite some growing popularity of socialism among the younger crowd and many Democrats generally, recent NBC/WSJ polling suggests these ideas do not reflect the thoughts of the nation as a whole --

The polling asked respondents whether they had positive or negative reactions to various people and ideas --

-- Just 18% had "very" or "somewhat" positive feelings about socialism

-- For capitalism, the percentages were reversed, with 50% being positive and 19% negative​

There should be a 90% positive response to capitalism. If you like anything about modern life including answering on-line or even phone polls.

 

An awful lot of people in this country have no idea what side their bread is buttered on.

 

Most socialists have no clue of what socialism is all about, only the ones leading the pack. No different than 1938 when the people of Germany thought they would get their free government paid for Beetle and everything would be hunky dory.

Not sure if Hitler was literally promising free VW Beetles to Germans. I think it is a metaphor for free health care and college, etc.

I did not know they were called Beetles back then so didn't think of a free car. Makes sense though.

 

I'm not sure either. Just figured that was the metaphor being used.

 

They actually had a savings book where you would send the government 5 deutchmarks (or whatever they had back then) a week for a few years (I am making these figures up) and then you would get your beetle (whatever it was called then) but most "investors" never got their car once WW2 broke out.

 

Hitler had Ferdinand Porshe design the car and it started production in 1938. The car was first called Kraft durch Freude ('Strength Through Joy'). Hitler promised people the car at the cost of a small motorcycle if they sent their $ in for this savings plan. Of course no one ever got anything.

 

So the NAZI party was leftist.

 

I don't know what they were, but they seem eerily similar to what's leading the liberals of today.

Michael Moore says AOC is "the natural front runner of the Democratic party and should be allowed to run for President". AOC is only 29 and you have to be 35 to run for President. Michael Moore is a dumbass, but he's certainly in touch with the radical Left of the Democratic Party.

it is amazing how much power AOC seems to have gathered in no time. She crushed Nancy Pelosi last week in the fight over the anti-Semitism resolution. She got it watered down until it was meaningless.

 

Who is her handler? Someone is pulling her strings and others for her to emerge like this .
What l do not get is that anyone with any sort of brain KNOWS socialism does not work for people so why are they trying to shove it down ?
Just for power? Then what?

 

How is AOC able to wield that much power that quickly? The tea party Republicans that were elected in 2010/2014 have fought long and hard and organized the Freedom Caucus to pool their power together. They have had little influence. The most outspoken ones have been marginalized. Now with Trump the they as a group support Trump even when he goes against freedom principles.

Now AOC comes in by herself claiming she is the boss and the Democrats all play submissive dog. Hard to tell what is going on. She can say the most outrageous things, GND, etc and the others just fall in line. Those in power must really agree with her Socialism.

It appears she is coached and handled by Saikat Chakrabart , her COS with some shady dealings that might land both in legal trouble.
I did not know she was recruited by Justice Democrats after her brother sent in an audition video. Justice Democrats was started by Young Turk socialist Cenk Uygur.
She is scary but the handlers behind her are scarier.

Is it possible the Dems have immediate buyer's remorse with her and are setting her up in these hearings to look foolish in the hopes she is not re-elected? I'm probably giving Dems way too much credit here.
