It still seems strange to me that a guy who has been a democrat less than a year in his long and ineffective life is running around demanding a total reform of the party, but in a year like this, why complain about hypocrisy?

Among his proposals: same day registration. That is great: not only would it allow Republicans to vote in the democratic party primaries but would also encourage lazy political deadbeats who haven't bothered to register all year or bothered to find out if they are registered to cast votes along with those of us who follow politics as if it were religion. That will make for a more informed electorate, no?

The only reason this new england loon got any traction at all this cycle is because there was no viable alternative for the many of us who dislike the clintons. He was free to peddle his marxism lite because Hillary sucked all the money and oxygen out of the room. Hillary is bad but this guy is a total joke. If Biden had run bernie would have been lucky to get 10% of the vote in any state. I would be willing to bet that half of his votes came from government employees----none of whom has ever had to meet a payroll and most of whom think money grows on trees-----the ones that shade the unicorns

Glad to see his 15 minutes are up.

my apologies to his voters: I realize now that he had a lot of support from students who liked his free tuition plan. Of course, UT would quadruple tuition as soon as the feds agreed to pay it so the cost would be much larger than the Unicorn Man has suggested, but hey, it is play money anyway.

Free tuition, brought to you by the party that promised health care costs would go down...

actually, the democrats rejected the guy who promoted that idea---but don't let the facts get in the way of ideological stupidity.

and that would be opposed to the gop, which might favor tuition for high school and middle school if the subject were raised for the first time.

Down or restrain the escalation? Not saying they succeeded but I don't remember saying costs would go down. I'm getting a little older too so someone may have stated that.

I do like to make things up but if you read Hillary's proposal it is "wonky" and more "complex" and would not do what is claimed. But neither of them deal with how they would control state and community colleges' setting of tuition in an honest way.

As for my remark about Republicans and charging tuition for lower grades it was rhetorical hyperbole and I would have thought somebody as thoughtful as Phil would have picked up on it.

As for my gratuitous insult of Phil, I hope he will accept my apology. I am somewhat distraught at the choices offered by the two parties this year. I had hoped the GOP might offer a viable alternative to Arkansas Billy's Wife/Lady MacBeth/Nixon in a Pantsuit. They have really disappointed me this time.

As Bernie suspected, leaked emails shows the DNC had determined Hillary was the nominee before the voting had ever started. Seems crooked?

Don't like Hillary but so what? At the time it was obvious she was going to be the nominee absent her being caught murdering kittens: she had two pretty good and qualified people step up to run----Webb and O'Malley----and neither ever got any traction at all; which was what was expected. She did get some resistance from the Pied Piper of Unicornland but his supporters were novices and high school english teachers and people who think money grows under the trees where the unicorns browse. i.e., nobody with a chance of winning.

The press has played this "race" as if what was inevitable was a mere possibility. They always do. It is the horserace narrative and the only one they know.

People at the DNC knew what was going to happen and somebody there memoed about how they could move the ball down the field without a lot of damage to the candidate. What a shock.

Still wont vote for her or that Mussolini impersonator but this carping is silly.

Here is the next page of that
Again, shows DNC conspired, prior to the primaries, to nominate HRC
They dont even list Trump which tells you how far back in time it was all HRC

Here is Forbes' view on the hack (they dont like the WAPO view, go figure)
    http://www.forbes.com/sites/paulrod...y-clintons-private-email-server/#18c7ab13b2a6

".....If Russian intelligence had hacked Clinton’s private server in early March of 2013 (or before), the Kremlin would have the trove of “private” emails Clinton destroyed and that U.S. officialdom and the public have never seen.

So while Russia’s breach of the DNC is worrisome, Putin’s real treasure trove might just be Clinton’s private emails. "

    HRC's potential donor list
One name sort of stands out -- the one who she used to accuse of subverting democracy with money. She is such a fraud

they assumed she would be the candidate and planned how to undermine the republican candidate, whoever it was: so? Should they have waited to start planning until after this summer's convention?

This does not appear to be a plot to get Hillary nominated but rather to beat whoever the GOP put up. It just assumes she would be the nominee. Correctly.

There was nobody in sight who could wrench the bloc votes of blacks or women she would be getting and no hispanic or union candidate making noises so it was perfectlyy reasonable to assume she would be the nominee.

Bernie is a socialist and has never been a democrat and is now trying to dictate what the party must be in the future. Pizz on the little jerk.

A serious candidate has to take into consideration how the party is going to do if he/she is nominated and tailor their message accordingly. Neither of the two dems is likely to be paying attention to party building in Texas and will use our state as a money bag to finance running elsewhere and leaving Texas democrats to their own devices. Their own devices will include how to run on the same ticket with somebody who is opposed to fracking and wants to pass gun control legislation. I see fair sailing for the national ticket in the 50 states as a whole but a total disaster for people running here as democrats. Not that many of them get elected anymore anyway. Take a look at the returns in 2014 in the rural areas and mid sized cities.

Outside of the valley, Austin and the big cities the party barely exists anymore.

Are you upset that the DNC did a better job at limiting a loon from winning their nomination than the RNC? As huisache has stated, it was obvious from the beginning that HRC was the preferred candidate of the DNC. Bernie, a registered Independent until recently, gave them a run for the DNC nomination. Debbie W-S has been in the sack for HRC since the beginning, clearly. I suspect the Clintons orchestrated her getting into that role. The Bush's probably did the same thing for Priebus but nobody imagined that Jeb would have been such a poor candidate for RP to have no ability to influence things in his direction.

They may have prevented the Socialist loon from winning the nomination but they still nominated one of the most corrupt candidates in modern history who is currently under investigation by the FBI. Had the Democrats put up an even half-decent candidate then they would win this election by double digits. I think Hillary still wins albeit in a closer election (3-5%), but will likely be a one-termer when the Republicans hopefully get their head out their asses in 2020. She is a very weak candidate.

as for the creator of that list, does it seem odd that a presumably brilliant "political operative" can't spell "billinaire" correctly and thinks one of the Koch brothers is an Obama donor?

and if the game was rigged to prevent lunatics from winning, I can only wish that the GOP would do the same with their game so I would have someone to vote for instead of the Malignant Narcissist or Lady MacBeth.

You say "under FBI investigation". Hillary calls it a "security review". Those Dems they you gotta hand it to 'em. They can obfuscate their way around anything and come out smelling like a rose.

I heard a former CIA "executive" on the radio today. He said Hillary's server wasn't even encrypted, much less well protected. He bets Russia, China, and Iran (the three best governments at internet espionage) accessed her emails. Maybe Trey Gowdy's Select Committee can get the goods from one of them, 'cause they won't get 'em as long as Hillary has a dollar for a lawyer.

Also, there seems to be an interesting riff developing between FBI Director James Comey and his boss, Obama's hand picked Att. Gen., Loretta Lynch. She supports Obama's gun control proposal tying gun sale approval to the no-fly list and he doesn't. I bring it up because even if the FBI says there is enough evidence to prosecute Clinton, I doubt Justice will pursue it.

In the end, Bernie turned out to be just another faker, fraud and sell-out.

By selling out to the Clinton machine, he put foreign interests, special interests and the Wallstreet crowd above the People.

It's a little hard to believe. How could he do that? Such a disappointment.

To his credit, Ron Paul never compromised himself or his principles when in similar situations.
