The announcers mentioned something about Gurwitz having a hurt leg. Did anyone else miss the final 10 minutes or so of the game? I was watching on Spectrum/Time Warner Ch. 77 in Austin, and it switched from the game to an infomercial at 5:00. I then switched to the Fox College Sports channel, which had just begun playing a "replay" of the game (that hadn't ended yet) at 5:00. Who the f**k makes these decisions?
Craig Way said he retweaked his hamstring. Held out of the field for precautionary reasons, but apparently good enough to hit and run the basepaths.
Tech, TCU, LSU, North Carolina, Clemson, Oregon State, Southern Miss, Florida, Arkansas, Long Beach State, Louisville, Kentucky, Stanford, Wake Forest and Florida State are other regionals
With the RPI Texas has the Horns dont need to sweat anything but where they will be sent as a two seed. Baylor doesnt have the RPI, SOS or the OOC wins that the Horns have. The Big XII should get six teams with Baylor as the seventh sweating that possible seventh berth. Helps that last year the Big XII got screwed and still put three teams in Omaha.
The brackets have been announced. Texas goes West to face Long Beach State (host), UCLA and San Diego State with UCLA up first. Based on the histories of these teams, this is a tough bracket.
Gurwitz is not the least of questionable decisions made by UT coach(es). Jones personally muffed a fly ball and then got picked off. Plus he hasn't hit his shirt number in the tourney. I'm no coach, but . . . .
Noticed that in final game Cooper was removed while Texas was leading 3-1? What led to that move? Also, how much did he pitch in the B12 tournament?
I believe he had a high pitch count and they did not want to burn him out. Still a winnable game if we do not drop fly balls or hit better with men on base.
