I'm sorry, but Shreveport should forever have lived on as the Poulan-Weedeater Independence Bowl. The shredding and whacking jokes just wrote themselves in the reporting of that game.
California is so virtuous that they are sending their biggest bowl game to another state to be played, so they can be safer at home!!! Best part is that no Pac team will be in it. Pitiful league. Why did they even bother to have a season - no one cared, even their fan(s).
Whole lot of teams with losing records playing in bowl games. How in the world can anyone say in good conscience that South Carolina and Arkansas merit bowl bids.
Worse...they get in while 9-2 Army gets NO bid after their bowl went away and other bowls were allegedly being told by schools that their program would opt out if they had to go against Army (and their option offense).
That is pitiful, and shows no nuts by the bowl officials. I'd have said: "if you back out I'll go public with you back out, so not only will your school be shown as cowards, but you've backed out of a game with Army, what kind of traitor are you?"
Idiots. The Army will fill up the stadium with soldiers from nearby base. Instead, take South Carolina, who will likely sell 500 tickets
The lack of testicular fortitude is rampant in our society. The crisis we're walking into will help reverse that trend.
South Carolina done due to Covid so no Gasparilla Bowl. That is two SEC teams that had no business being in bowls out due to the virus.
If you missed Liberty vs Costal Carolina. You should have watched it. Probably the most hectic and exciting finish you will see this year. Liberty player trying to run the clock and not score has his own player try to push him over the goal. Drops the ball on the one foot line. Costal recovers. Costal has a short field goal to win the game blocked.
That play was so bizarre. Made me wonder how all of us ‘experts’ would have critiqued TH had that happened with us. Crazy how you could see the runners legs braced to stop himself short of the goal line.
Even more strange it it was the tight end that pushed him not a lineman. He should have just stayed in place like he did on the previous play. Plan was solid.
