Wife and I are going to drive up the California coast in late October. We plan on stopping in San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Anyone have any suggestions on places to eat while we are there? I don't mind suggestions for an expensive dinner, but I'm more interested in $25-$30 per person or less kind of places. Anything unique to the area would be great. If you want to recommend specific dishes that would be welcome as well. Thanks in advance.

    LA -- Ciudad
SF-- Agree on Scoma's, though the location on the Wharf is good and easier to get to

If you get to Napa, go to Mustard's Grill

If on PCH, stop at Dukes in Malibu, thought it was really good.
