I thought G was a genius coach but recruiting was her Achilles heal. Duke, much like Stanford and Norte Dame, is a prestigious, destination university that gets a different type of recruit. Usually that type of player finds the university rather than the other way around. At Duke, G did less traditional recruiting and instead something more akin to fielding offers that came in. I think she either mistakenly believed or was led to believe that Texas was similar. She was very vocal once she got here that she was surprised at how much competition there was when trying to recruit for Texas. In the end she never was able to assemble the same type of players that brought her so much success at Duke. Aston, on the other hand, is a genius recruiter who is quickly becoming a genius coach. Just my opinion...
