A friend of mine is looking to get some custom made boots. I've looked up makers in the area, but is there one or two which are considered the best? (I did a search, but didn't see anything specific to the DFW area.)
Shank, One of my best friends makes boots. He has made sets for George Bush, Roger Clemens, Nolan Ryan, etc.... He is just outside of Waco, PM me and I can get you his info, he is real reasonable also. Chief
Leddy's, Mercedes and Ammons are well regarded bootmakers in the DFW area that I know of. Leddy's are probably the best known and most prestigious if that makes a difference to him. I have a pair of Ammons and they are good boots, but I get most my boots off the shelf so I can't compare them to other custom boots. I have a friend that gets his boots from Mercedes and he speaks highly of them. I don't think they do that much fancy stuff though, just a quality boot that fits well.
