Texas vs Kansas tonight 8pm Central These guys kicked the crap out of Baylor. Guards Agbaji and Braun are their big scorers and will bring what may be the best outside scoring game we’ll face this year. D is our forte, and tonight we will see just how good our outside D is. McCormack is a muscle bound beast inside 6’10” 250 lbs who can dominate the boards. His pal Jalen Wilson grabs the boards McCormack misses. Both excel at garbage man duties and either could post a double-double on a really good night. If they grab lots of offensive rebounds, we’re in trouble. Guys like Bishop, Allen, and Disu need to show up tough and mean down low. That’s probably too much to ask of Mitchell, but if he at least hits a number of Js from the post on these guys (and doesn’t turn the ball over on goofball Harlem Globetrotter-inspired passes), he will have contributed well enough. Play our tight D, win the turnover battle, don’t let them push us around down low and dominate the boards, and be something other than ice cold when shooting outside, and we’re right in there. Kansas’ defense is pedestrian compared to ours. They just score a lot of points. And they clean the glass. Not too shabby in transition either. Well, at least we kick their a$$ in football every year… UT in a tight one. Go Horns!!!

Horns score the last 7 points to win 79-76. Horns don't have a problem finishing now. February is here, Horns are rounding into a tournament team, and the Erwin Center is a now giving the Horns a home court advantage. A wild, loud crowd tonight had a great time seeing a great team pull out a great win!! Congrats Horns!
Won the game with a poor 3pt shooting night, this team is tough. That is so encouraging. Bring on Baylor and TTU in our house!!!!
Hey Chop, I really enjoy reading your basketball thoughts, as I don't pay as much attention to detail like you do. I generally learn something reading your pre-game posts. Watched it with my UT attending son. We should have been there live... great game tonight!

The refs really let them play tonight. Both sides. This looked like a Big 10 game from 40 years ago—No Blood, No Foul.
