...is coming to Austin to the Northcross mail in March/April of this year. To those who know is this a good thing?
In my opinion- If you are from Dallas and love franchises, then it's the best thing that could ever happen to Austin. If you think Bill Miller is pretty good BBQ, then you'll probably think Dickey's is better. If you like really BBQ, there's a lot of local joints that are 1,000 times better. Hell, even if it's a franchise, I'd take Rudy's over Dickey's any day of the week. Just my personal opinion.
Had a friend take me to Dickey's when I went with him up to the metroplex. My prognosis: The place is a disgrace to barbecue. Same model as Rudy's, but with blander meat and sides whose main ingredients probably begin with the word "reconstituted." Blech.
