Katz Deli, around 3 am, and speaking very loudly in a militant voice espousing pro palestinian views whilst eating either the pastrami or club with a side of fries. 9.99$ I think
$10 I'll take TWO llunch specials at Ken's tacos on Cameron, best IMO is the Club with the chips and a drink.
My Eatzi's choice in Dallas is: Grilled chicken on a baguette (the bone bread is good too) Lettuce Tomatoes Muenster cheese Sun-dried tomato spread on one side Honey dijon on the other A bag of Zapps Ice cold Boylan's Red Birch Beer
Muffaletta at Sambet's Crawfish Pirogue at Pacific Star Turkey Melt at Riata Bar and Grill Lg. Meatball from Delaware Subs (feeds 2)
California Dreamin' or Big John at the big Spec's Deli are also good sandwich bang for your buck. Half pound of meat, yum!
Has anyone been to Firehouse in Dallas? Everything there is flawless... including some of the sandwich girls! I also love Eatzi's too, but nothing can touch their chicken caesar salad, especially chilled in the freezer for 30 minutes.
I forgot about this one: Shrimp po-boy from the Ragin' Cajun. But you have to go to the original on Richmond by the rail road tracks.
Po-boy at Rajun Cajun is the tits, but my favorite is next door at Neilsen's Deli......Turkey sangwich is best ever.
The Link Primanti Brothers: Apparantly, no one has been through or lived in Pittsburgh. Fresh french bread piled with your choice of deli meat (probably 3/4 lb), thick cut french fries (homeade), and cole slaw. If you are adventurous, add a fried egg. It is greatness and a staple in SW Pennsylvania.
I saw Primanti Bros. on the that old Food Network show "The Best Of." Those sandwiches looked awesome.
Roast beef or BBQ Po-boy from Pirates Cove on the Mississipi coast. You could eat their french bread plain and it would beat a lot of the sandwiches mentioned here.
In Houston: Try Kraftsmen Bakery on Montrose. The Kraftsmen Club is awesome as well as the Turkey Brie sandwich which comes with bacon and Avocado. Latina Cafe on Fairview makes the best Cuban Sandwich I've ever had. Central Market has some really good Panninis as well. My favorite sandwich used to be the one I concocted at Eatzi's before they closed it down. :mad Striatta bread, Ancho-chilie Mayo on one side, a green spread (I can't think of the name) on the other side, half turkey, half ham. lettuce tomato onion pickles with a pinch of salt and pepper. Simple but perfect. Here's another vote for Potbelly's Roast Beef as well as Jason's Deli Club Royale. For anyone who thinks Quizno's is good, I have about as much respect for opinion as I do a sooner's opinion on the state of college football.
I used to love the double meat club at Blimpie's and then all the Blimpie's just closed almost overnight. Whats up with that?
Mimi's Grocery in Lakeview New Orleans, best po-boys in the world, anybody whose ever eaten there would agree. Took 8 feet of water and isn't reopening
I like several sandwiches on the menu at The Great Outdoors. This is a small chain with stores I think primarily in the Dallas Ft. Worth area that has been around about 25 years.
