I'm sorry netslave, I just don't think any of that makes any sense. I really don't mean to be offensive, and I respect everyone's right to believe whatever they like, but it's all just a bunch of nonsensical doubletalk to me. The most obvious example is that a god who desperately wants people to believe in him probably wouldn't be invisible and silent. I did like the Star Wars example though.
A sociological prediction does not equal a fact. I doubt that you're able to see that your definition of facts, in this case, is little more than an attempt to reinforce and validate your existing (religious) beliefs.
I just made a post on another thread that I wanted to bring over here to get everyone's view but to a greater extent NetSlave's...because I asked you earlier if you ever actually think about how outlandish your beliefs actually are, my opinion was that you kind of ignored the question. So I wanted your response to my post..... Here is the post that was made in reference to the founding claim of Christianity:
You will be voicing your objections the rest of your life, Ryan. Back to the OP: Don't believe in anything supernatural. Used to be really afraid of the dark, like the open garage door after dark, the closet, under the bed. This leaves a memory that doesn't go completely away. But I don't believe any of that stuff.
Heaven/Hell - of course. Yes. Ultimately you're rewarded or punished for the way you live your life. Can't imagine how anyone doesn't believe that.
I am just trying to determine if the badexcuse meets the OP's criteria stated in the initial question. It is obvious that Anastasia doesn't based on the content of their post.
Ryan, I do not know that nature of the post that you quoted but let me quote something from it and then clarify something about it.
