Lo love the play call. Never seen a pulling guard counter for the qb run before. Like a rollout pass but a designed run instead
Maybe true for you in particular, but had we passed, there'd have been quite a lot of "why did we give up on Bijan?" comments. Last drive we had the ball on the 6, got good blocking, and made it to the 1. That's a success. From the 1 we ran it again and their defense blew up our OL and so the play failed. This drive we had the ball on the 18 and had amazing blocking and scored. The difference between the 3 points and the 7 points looks largely like execution to me.
And there is the trademark wide receiver running free in the Texas defensive backfield we all know too well.
That "tackle" by Sterns was pathetic. Should never have been necessary for him to try, but he had to since nobody decided to actually cover Shaw. But when you play safety, that's what you gotta be able to do - stop the guys your teammates let through. Not wave them on by.
20 free yards and missed tackle by Sterns yep that's the Tommy terrific team discipline that has defined this team for four years.
Announcer just said the problem was Chris Brown took the TE and let the WR go by, but actually, Brown let both of them go by and so Sterns couldn't cover both. But he still should have attempted a real tackle rather than just falling over and hoping Shaw tripped over him.
