at 8 p.m. CST on this coming Friday at Maples Pavilion. Game will be on ESPN3. Still no TV for the matches. I thought for sure the PAC12 would use one of its seven or eight channels to televise the match. Maybe that will still happen. The winner of Stanford vs Wisconsin will play the winner of UT vs Utah.
The ESPN family of networks owns the broadcast rights to the regionals and the final four matches. As the PAC 12 Network has no affiliation with ESPN (unlike SEC Network and LHN) I wouldn't pin any hopes on that. It'd be way more likely for LHN to get to broadcast it.
it's almost here! http://www.texassports.com/news/2017/12/6/no-2-volleyball-preview-ncaa-regionals.aspx no TV, only live stream. http://www.texassports.com/news/2017/12/6/video-no-2-volleyball-works-out-at-sparta-science.aspx https://www.dailytexanonline.com/2017/12/06/ogbogu-ready-to-return-to-volleyballs-biggest-stage http://www.utahutes.com/news/2017/12/6/volleyball-set-for-sweet-sixteen-in-palo-alto.aspx
hopefully, not showing it on the schedule but the FB game on instead of the scheduled MBB rerun is almost over. So, keeping my fingers crossed that the LHN will show Texas vs Utah.
Never understood why she wasn't getting any playing time this season. Hope she sees the floor against the Cardinal
Not a volleyball expert, but how can it be that Bedart-Ghanni has had so little court time this year? It has been obvious from freshman year that she is a major talent. IMO, there's no way we would have won tonight without her. My MVP tonight.
Coach's made some great decisions after the second set. And credit them with keeping all the ladies ready to contribute. Great game!!
We were there. What a great match, especially for Yazzie. I've always been saying she should get more PT too. It was hilarious when she served and the 1st one clipped the top of the net and rolled over to the floor. The Texas crowd went crazy. The whole crowd (except for burnt orange t-shirts) was rooting for utah, even wiscy and stanford fans. I think that once the area got filled and loud that might have been what rattled the team in the second set. It was like a road match. They looked like they were playing in a local charity pick up game. Totally out of focus. Finally pulled together in the 3rd, but not enough. Was finally enough in the 4th and what an incredible 5th. When utah tied it in the 5th I thought, here we go again, but that's not what Yazzie thought. And I could talk for days about Cat. What and incredible player. I don't think most people realize how much we're going to miss her next year. It's not only her defense, but her serving. We go on runs serving because she simply gets her serves in. The only time we do that is when Cat or Natalie are serving. Everyone else is just too inconsistent. I still don't understand the power serves. We win a higher % points on Cat's easy over serve than the power serve even when they're both in. Take out all the faults on the power serve and it's just giving the other team side out, free points. Everyone get's excited about the aces, but the ace % is about 1% and we don't need aces to win points, we just need to get the serve in. Did I mention how much we're going to miss Cat next year?
I cringed when White was serving I think at match point. Just knew a service error was coming. And it did. Fortunately the Horns overcome that. Even when White gets the serve in, it translates to a good pass, good set and kill by opposition almost all the time. This is no secret and has been pointed out by announcers and others many times. As noted, McCoy’s serves are key and she gives me the most confidence dropping back. Serving and serve-receive may be key tonight. Blocks and kills get every one excited but other things may be the match determining factor. Talk about a thrilling effort by Yazzie. Her power may translate more in importance at the highest levels.....as evidenced by last year’s tourney and last night. I’ll bet Elliot starts Yazzie tonight.
I have always thought that Yaazie was underutilized, but I trust that Elliot knows what he's doing better than I do, lol. Was great to see her power push the Horns through to the next round. Tonight will be quite the test for our ladies!
