Horns-Utes Alamo Bowl Game Thread

I'm sick of this "they didnt want to be there" crapola. A player should #1-Have enough pride in himself to do his best every game, #2-Have enough pride in his teammates not to let them down and #3- pride in his school to want to properly represent it. I guess thats to old school...............rant done Im off my soapbox

 

It's almost as if Texas beats what is perceived to be a superior team, there must have been some excuse for the loser. The search begins for that excuse immediately following the final gun. I'm sick of it too, but begin to win consistently and the excuses will run out.

 

No ****. Just use the eye test. We were a better team. Dominated both sides of the LOS. Had a better QB. Had better receivers. The reality is Utah beat absolutely no one and is not a top 11 team or whatever. They'd have gotten **** canned worse that OU. But we still played a hell of a game I don't care who you are playing.

 

Correct JF, but the land thieves will counter with their losses of late were in the CFP.

 

O-4 is not a record worth bragging about.

 

You must have missed the several critical plays by Adimora. Like I said, he learned from his previous mistakes.

 

Neither is our record against OU over the last 20 years or the fact that we have NEVER been to the CFP to lose.

 

Fantastic win yesterday and a great game to attend! If Texas is not in a NY6 Bowl/Playoff Bowl, then there is nothing better than destroying a Pac12 Team in San Antonio! Hook 'em Horns!

 

Kind of like aggy saying all their losses were to top 10 teams?

 

I'd rather be 0-4 in CFP than 3-1 in a different "major bowl"

 

I'm guessing if a coach goes 0-4 in the CPF and also gets clobbered like OU did about 98% of this board would be screaming for the coaches head.

Championship games yes but not in CFP. Haven't won the conference since 2009....and counting....

 

He was on all special teams and about 3 or 4 plays on offense.

 

They were in the final games twice, won once.

I said "CFP", which OU has been to four times and we have NEVER been to. It did not exist in 2005 and 2009.

The Alamo bowl reminded us of one very important thing.

We are still Texas and Utah is still Utah. I feel sorry for the recruits who forgot this lesson. Now they have to live with it. Good luck to them, you have just seen the best they will ever do.
