We have won three of four
They have won eight of nine
Horns have to take better care of the ball. Value possessions.
Hayes with a really unnecessary foul
Overall good half by the Horns. Up four. Ramey had couple of threes rattle in then out.
Can't be disappointed so far
Crap. We are up 4 at the half.
O took a good 3 there
Shaka needs to junk the press. It got one ten second call but otherwise given up easy baskets.
Danger time for the Horns. Offense nor defense looking that good right now.
It’s amazing how other teams make offense look easy and the Horns make it look so damn hard.
Not gonna count. Shaka has to go. There is no offensive concept, just one of the guards try to penetrate and hope for the best. Weber’s k-state team continues to run motion and make the defense work the entire possession and usually gets a good shot.
Need to hit your free throws
Need to get defensive rebounds too
No way Texas is a tournament team. I’m to the point that i’m Ok with them losing out so CdC will make the necessary change.
We keep playing 2 non shooters against a zone. Stupid
Texas falls to No. 18 Kansas State, 71-64.
Longhorns drop to 14-11, 6-6 in Big 12 play.
It’s all about the coaching. It appears that Smart is so busy building relationships with his players that he is just being their friend instead of their coach. I have nothing really to back it up but in the games i’ve watched it seems like the offense bogs down in the second half when it operates in front of the Texas bench. The players stand around for the first 15 seconds if the shot clock until Smart calls a set(just a high pick and roll).
Horns only scored 25 points in the 2nd half. That won't win against a good team. Especially a very good KSU team. The Horns couldn't score in the paint in the second half, and couldn't hit threes.
Ramey and Roach disappeared in the 2nd half after leading the scoring in the first. Shaka was not able to figure out how to attack KSU's zone.
KSU is a very good defensive team and they are able to knock down threes. They have three very good seniors who are BB smart.
Also our turnovers killed us down the stretch.
Every time, seriously every time, we ran the full court press KSU broke the press easily and on all but one of those scored either a quick dunk or a 5 foot jumper.
And he kept calling it until about the 8 minute mark. SS is a slow learner; tries to fit square pegs into round holes. He has a really hard time making adjustments. On the other hand, the ksu coach made great halftime adjustments which led to them winning going away.
Anyone else flip over to the Duke game after ours?
Duke was down by 23 points
Somehow came back and won it
In the last 9:12 tonight, we made only 3 FGs -- two dunks and one 3-pointer.
We took seven 3s in the final 10:07
Just like they were down 17 to the Horns last year and came back and won. It’s what the fighting krewzuskis do
Not really "crazy", Joe. Duke has a real basketball coach, who has them running plays, playing defense, and are basketball smart.
I sincerely hope that somebody handcuffs Billie Powers to a seat in Erwin Center and makes him sit through every single second of the **** show his "legacy" has produced and grossly overpaid for.
Been saying that all season. For every turnover or 10 sec call Texas gives up 3 easy dunks.
OTOH, if Texas just takes care of the ball it's a W against a very good team.
