What is really sad is that the field that was built in Frisco for the Double-A affiliate is a FAR nicer facility from the standpoint of aesthetics...
No kidding, we drove by it about a week ago and my wife was aghast at how ugly the damn thing looks from the outside and frankly, I had a hard time arguing with her. I will reserve judgment on the park itself until I see my first game there but I know I will miss the Ballpark and how much of a cathedral of baseball feeling it had as you walked up to it, heat or not.
I always felt that MMP could look really nice from some angles, and from others it looks like a barn at the county fair. Convertible stadiums are just like that, I guess.
Looks of MMP/Enron/Juicebox/whatever never really bothered me other than it was a replacement for a perfectly fine stadium that lost an awesome scoreboard in order to appease a pissant Oilers owner who left town anyhow. The Rangers new place...does it come with barf bags?
The Rangers let the media in to the new place This is on the wall Guess what Texas city they off their map lol
Mb227, unfortunately I have to agree with you. The new ballpark does not look like the artist's rendering. The old ballpark was classic - I rated it second in the majors, right behind Camden Yards. It's a shame they couldn't retrofit a sliding roof onto The Ballpark. The new park does, however, match its neighbor, the Boss Hog Bowl - they're both ugly on the outside. I'll hold my final judgment until I've gone to a game in the new ballpark, but so far I'm disappointed in the exterior. And, yes, I did vote "Yes" when it was on the ballot. Matter of fact, I voted "Yes" for the Cowboys stadium - I regret that vote now.
Me and the Astros are on the outs right now over the cheating thing. It will pass in time, but right now I don't feel the need to watch them.
The flag squatter here is Mookie Betts, who once said he would always stand for the flag and anthem. He also just signed a $365M extension with the LAD
