How much virtue signaling at the game?

I had to go to BW3 to watch the Texas/UTEP game (ty LHN), so I didn't see the start or the end of the game, and I'm curious...

Was there any kneeling by players during the national anthem?

Did any players refuse to sing The Eyes of Texas after the game?

I didn't watch the game either, but in reading the posts here, it seemed the team was in the locker room, as usual, during the playing of the National Anthem.

After the game, the Eyes of Texas came on almost immediately after the game was over, while the teams were shaking hands. Either accidentally or most likely on purpose. So no real organized signing of the song.

We'll see if that continues, especially if/when the Band returns. It'll be a shame if the players spurn the tradition of the song, for some alleged racialist incident that may or may not have occurred when Teddy Roosevelt was president.

If they do, when / if they stink the joint out again like they did last year against Kansas, ISU, or Baylor, it'll save time for the fans as they can leave early without bothering to stay around for the Eyes.

Players are not on the field during the anthem. You are confused with the pro game. When the team ran onto the field, two players were carrying the US flag. After the game, the PA announcer played the Eyes as soon as the team crossed the field to shake the hands of the opposing team. Some players headed to the locker room and skipped shaking hands and the Eyes.
