Nice OP. Fairly true, and no insult taken nor assumed. As for me, sure I look at the early games as experimental indicators of possible OU outcomes. Given that this is a fundamentally uncertain undertaking, there is going to be some psychological stress. No matter how good we look, this uncertainty and our past with OU are bound to give us pause. Post OU, its about waiting for the all too commmon slip up. Now every game and play is a search for clues of where that slip up will be. Again, the past is conditioning for this mental habit. This is all part of the life-is-wonderful vs the-blues-is-my-jones kind of existance we lead. None of this reaches psychotic levels, naturally. Its great entertainment.
