But we must be careful because they are tough on us at Kansas. Remember that they came within a pass interference penalty and a big 4th and 18 of beating us in 2004. And they have had good teams in the past. For example in 1908 they had a perfect record and beat Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas State and Missouri. Also you have to remember in 1901 we had a very good winning record while they had a losing record winning only 3 games that year but one of them was over us when we went to Kansas and lost 0-12. So we must be careful and stay focused. Scary times indeed.
You beat me to it Stan...let's just say I'm neither overwhelmed nor underwhelmed...I guess I'm just kinda whelmed.
I know Bill in sinton, i am so excited to finish 7-5 and get a bowl bid to Buffalo wild wings bowl out in Arizona oh yeah what a great fun bowl
Yes, we're Texas! We pay our HC over FIVE MILLION a year so that he can display criminal incompetence and take us to the "YourCoachBlows.com Bowl" Let's stay focused on meaningless stats, explosive plays and claps. Let's all be losers willing to tolerate and accept a bunch of well-paid losers who suck at doing what they were hired to do.
I'm really conflicted...let's just say I'm NOT pulling for the Horns to win out...not really a possibility, as I see it, anyway. I think the best UT does is two more wins, and I hope that's enough to bring a change in the coaching staff. It's only the second time in my six decades I've EVER pulled for UT to lose.
I'm still wanting a change at DC and HC, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop rooting/cheering for the Horns. That would be just plain aggy of me if I did that This team has to take it one game at a time, think nothing about anything else right now but Kansas. Tackle Kansas first.
People who try and debate the merits of which records we should or shouldn't be excited about on a BiS thread are really missing the point.
Bill that was great, sorry about the negative nillies on this board who just have to keep proving what losers they are.....
I am glad we will be bowl eligible this year. But that is way below what my expectations were. WAY BELOW. Defense needs re-do, I think we all agree on this. We're Texas. No excuses.
Some people on true fans and stay with the team and University no matter what. It is ok to be disappointed, but some people on this board are despicable when it comes to being fans, students or alumni. Hook Em Horns and Texas Fight
If the D keeps playing this badly, do we want to see the Horns in a bowl? It is worse than a root canal to watch this D in action. I want to win too, but without divine intervention I see much gnashing of teeth in the remainder of the season.
Blind obedience to the official UT party line is not a prerequisite to be a "true" Longhorn fan. If telling the truth makes someone despicable, then I suppose that would describe me. I've been a Longhorn fan for nearly six decades, and one of the things I've loved about UT's fanbase is its' openness to constructive criticism. The football team is broken, and I'm NOT the only one who's lost faith in the current staff to be able to fix it. I supported Mack two years ago when a lot of people were calling for his scalp. That support wasn't blind allegiance, and I finally became convinced early in this year's OU game that time has caught up to Mack. Everything about him since has indicated a "bunker mentality" and that's a prime sign that he's no longer a good fit for the job. I do NOT get that mentioning the obvious is somehow being a disloyal UT fan. I love this team more for having been a fan as long as I've been, and I want its' success as much as any UT fan out there. I happen to think that success can only come with a change in the head coaching job. Some people show their care and concern for UT by getting what's not working out in the open, instead of sunshine-pumping.
I want the Horns to beat the former Fighting Mangino's, but doing so and becoming bowl eligible just does not get me real excited right now. A visit to Lubbuttocks looms and Rome is still burning
Going to a bowl game every once in a while IS baylor's goal. I hope we have'nt stooped that low. I like to think we have bigger goals than that.
