can someone explain to me how we did not turnover the ball in blowu's favor when Colt through for the TD? i dont understand that call at all....please explain. thanks! HOOKEM HORNS!!!
The on-field Refs and review officials are TERRIBLE this game. Let's just hope that is the last bad call of the game.
I thought you had to maintain possession of a reception all the way to the ground or it's incomplete.
Repeating a second time (sorry to beat a dead horse, but a buncha threads popped up about this: Had the officials done their job, the INT wouldn't have stood because No.30 should've been flagged for defensive holding. That would've given Texas a fresh set of downs from near the 10-yard line, so it's a push.
You need to show at some point before you hit the ground that you have possession. Then if the ground pops the ball loose it is still a catch. At least that is my understanding of the rule.
From what I know of the rule, the ground can not cause a fumble, but then thats usually on receptions, its kind of different on an interceptions (it would seem anyways). Thats part of the game though, calls go both ways and you have to deal with them. That wasn't as bad as Knall.... that was just pathetic.
"Ground can't cause a fumble" There is no fumble if there is no possession. You have to hang on to the ball all the way to the ground. Incomplete. Hook'em Horns
If the receiver (or defender in this case) goes to the ground on a catch, he must maintain possession or it is incomplete. The officials know the rules. The announcers don't. It was a good call and anybody who says it wasn't (I'm looking at you Brent) is WRONG.
I must be wrong, but we got away with one there...because that looked complete...but I could be drunk...
The announcers are just wrong, ground can cause an incomplete its the same call as the Kelson not int in the Rose Bowl.
No, it was obviously a missed call and a great play by the defender. Anybody who tells you otherwise is just flat out wrong. It was karma to the utmost for that AWFUL hold on the TE. Herbstreit and Musburger know their ****, TRUST me. And they have a much better angle than the officials after the dozens of reviews.
Exactly, you have to show you have control or the ground can cause an incompletion. The announcers are idiots. Nothing new I know but..
A lot of new posters pretending to be Horns around here today. The Sooners got away with the hold that may have cost Texas a touchdown and were handed another score on the "running into the kicker" acting job by the Oklahoma punter. OU got a lot of breaks today. They were lucky the score was as close as it was. Btw, incomplete was the correct call.
