No but he sought approval to fight ISIS and didn't get it. Same for Syria. Maybe things were different with Lybia. I don't know. You don't either. We do know that POTUS speaks of "immenent" attacks and the Sec Defense does not know of them. I find that curious.

Osama was not an official of another sovereign so not an act of war. I'm sure Pakistan had a right to be pissed but the fact that he was effectively on the same transformer as their West Point kind of muted any anger they might have.

I would say that none of this would have happened had we not pulled out of the agreement.

Here are some more pics of the damage from the Iranian missiles
if nothing else, they tend to undermine the idea that they were not trying to kill anyone

These are from Ain al-Asad air base, Anbar, Iraq

You'd say that we'd be safe ... incl our troopers and civilians ... if we'd just let Iran become nuclear?

    LOL ...

    yeah brilliant.

they didn't want to escalate ... yet they were hair triggered on surface-air missiles.

They weren't as concerned about escalation as you want to believe. They fully expected a counter attack because of THEIR action.

I have to laugh every time you act like the nuclear deal was working. They never stopped building nukes and they killed many of our soldiers. We got nothing out of that deal. You still think we should play nice and they will honor any agreement is laughable.

I don’t want Trump to have to share anything with Congress. Trump has shown he will do whatever it takes to protect America. Let me ask you a serious question. Do you really think if Trump told congress his plans that the squad wouldn’t give them a heads up. The left has been proven over and over again that they can’t be trusted and that they don’t have the best interest of America first. Their priority is just trying to get power. That’s it. They have done nothing for the last 3 years. Trump deserves the benefit of doubt, the left doesn’t.

What makes you think it wasn't working? Tillerson and others advised him to stay in the deal.

I'd say we're much closer to a nuclear Iran now than we were a year ago.

I think if he'd shared it with the gang of 8 that they'd treat it like they should. They might advise against action. The problem is this administration goes in with information like Mark Lee (R) called the most incomplete military briefing that he has received since he has been in the Senate. Trump got pissed after watching a fox and friends segment. The world would be a better place if he'd do two things. 1) quit watching fox. 2) stop using twitter. Use your intelligence agencies and have press briefings like adult administrations.

The gang of eight has Adam Schiff as a member so there's a good reason why Trump kept them in the dark. However, the DOJ was notified before the attack.

Taking out Soleimani is going to be the next grounds for impeachment, once this one formally goes belly up. They are already attempting to set up a legal basis for this charge. Impeachment is going to keep going as long as they have the House.

I mean if he did it to earn votes in the senate (as he apparently told some people) that’s not necessarily unreasonable.

I say we blame Elizabeth Trump. If she had faked a headache one night, Fred Trump wouldn't have been born. That means Donald Trump wouldn't have been born. That means we wouldn't have pulled out of the nuclear agreement, which means the embassy wouldn't have been attacked, which means we wouldn't have blown up Suleimani, which means Iran wouldn't have been firing missiles, which means the airliner wouldn't have gone down. Just one fake headache, and none of this happens. That selfish skank has blood on her dead hands.

Or we can be sensible and blame the people who actually shot down the plane because they sucked at their jobs rather than doing contortions to try to blame a guy we don't like.

Can we dial back the bone spurs barbs, please?
There is a healthy list of chief executives (18 total) who never served in the military (Grover Cleveland paid a Polish immigrant to take his place during the Civil War). And of those who did, not all saw combat (James Madison actually drew British fire during the War of 1812).
List of Presidents who were Veterans.
And of the 535 members who currently serve in Congress, slightly less than 18% wore a uniform.
Veterans in the 116th Congress, by the numbers
Having military experience, while laudable, is not necessary to hold office in the House, Senate, or the Executive.
And before you play the Draft Dodger card, the number of people with deferments during Vietnam is a lengthy one too (including my brother and William Jefferson Clinton). I can assure you that the number of 1969 high school grads who were champing at the bit to go to Southeast Asia was comparatively small, if not minuscule.
And respectfully from one Barry avatar to another, this retort is aimed at others as well.

I’m going for coffee now. Still friends?

I wonder how many of those bases existed in 1979?
How many were established after 9/11?

How many are in countries who asked us to be there?

We're friends. The issue isn't that he had "bone spurs". The issue is that he acts like he's some military expert. Clinton didn't act like some military expert who talks poop about generals.

The overseas military base complaint is a ******** issue in virtually every situation, and it is in this situation. Iran isn't a problem because we have military bases in the Middle East. That's like the Soviet Union complaining that we had military bases in West Germany during the Cold War. They are one of the biggest reasons we have military bases in the Middle East.

We've had a military presence in the Middle East since the late 1940s or early 1950s. However, it was fairly limited force until the early 1980s. (Hmm, what happened right around that time? Oh yeah, a crazy lunatic came to power in Iran.) We expanded further in the wake of the first Gulf War as well and added some after 9/11 (though actually reduced significantly in Saudi Arabia since then), and of course, we've maintained a significant presence ever since. Iran is a huge part of that, but of course, so was Iraq, the Afghan War, and ISIS.

Virtually all US military bases overseas exist at the request or with the agreement of the host nation. Guantanamo Bay is a notable exception. You can find people who oppose our military bases, but the bottom line is that nobody really wants us to leave except actual enemies of the United States and of the West. Why? Because our bases are a huge economic boom to the host nation. Our personnel spend a lot of money on the local economy. They lease homes (at a premium cost) from local property owners. The bases hire huge numbers of local nationals and pay them well. Will you occasionally hear complaints about isolated issues? Sure, but when we actually close an overseas base, it is almost always against the wishes over the local community, and nobody is happy about it.

For example, Ramstein Air Base gets protested every year. Guess who organizes it? Die Linke (German for "The Left"). Who's Die Linke? They are the successor party to the Socialist Unity Party that governed East Germany. What a friggin' surprise. A bunch of disgruntled communists who are still bitter about the Cold War want a USAF base to close. Well, no ****. And I've seen them a few times. It's a parade of human debris - a bunch of dope-ridden bums and freaks who don't work and haven't taken a bath in a week just like you see at leftist protests in the United States.

I concur with this. However, the way to get power out of the Mullocracy is to diminish their standing via diplomacy not bombs.

Then you are happy Obama is not still Pres. He dropped over 26k in ME in 2016 alone.
Has Trump dropped any bombs in Iran since he used a missile to take out Sulimeni? How many bombs did Trump send to Iran before that?
