The staff knows it, the fans know it and the players know it. What we saw today was a staff and team just going through the motions. It's going to get much worse as the season progresses, the losses mount and teams much better than K-State do their best to humiliate the Longhorns.
In fact, watching almost anyone reminds me of what we have regressed into: a bad team that has rare flashes of competency. We really aren't very good but the glimpses of grandeur, such as the infrequent completed long ball, give us inappropriate optimistic hope.
i don't know that i think they are going through the motions. if they are, you have to replace the coach. the guys will get hurt that way.
For the sheer sake of public relations, there is nothing to be gained by firing Strong now. Might as well let him finish out the season--as painful as it might be.
I disagree. I have zero belief that Perrin and Company can run a clean coaching search. I would rather Perrin have 2 months to get it right than simply the 2-3 days after the Thanksgiving weekend. This thing needs to be thoroughly though out. Think of all the due diligence LSU is getting done right now.
If Perrin & Co aren't doing the same thing as LSU right now they're idiots, at least behind the scenes. In business I've rarely seen the old guy fired until the new guy is hired.
Perrin is on record as saying he will handle any coaching change. This could be good if it means Luck will agree to be the new AD. Just like the Chairman of all companies, any AD worth his salt keeps a short list of potential replacement head coaches in his head (if not his desk/on his computer) at all times. Patterson wasn't worth anything as an AD, and we all witnessed the fire drill.
