I'm thinking of installing one of these in my kitchen. Are there any draw backs? Any advice or comments will be greatly appreciated.

I bought a magnetic tool holder at Sears a couple of years ago. I stuck it on my fridge and put my butcher and paring knives on it. No need to drill holes and it works great. No wood to fade or discolor and it is cheaper than the kitchen version. It does have holes for screws if you want to mount it on wood surfaces. I used to think these things were stupid but I love the thing.

Great idea. I'll look into that.

I guess I should have clarified something. I did not stick it on the door of the fridge. It is on the side next to the prep area of my counter top. Knives might come loose and attack an unsuspecting foot if the magnet is mounted on the door. The door should be reserved for kids art work and magnets with silly sayings.

    Trust me. I'm a Doctor.

It will be just great until you decide to get that ceramic knife.

We use one and love it. The magnet on ours is reallly strong and we got it from IKEA, cheap and easy to put up.
