I was already done, but how do idiots get in charge of multi billion dollar organizations and purposively try to ostracize their fans. Good riddance MLB.

Yep, it’s been just college sports for me for awhile, but that’s gotten ‘woke’ too lately and with the new pay for play rules I may be back to HS.

Or conservatives will realize that they are on the wrong side of history and reverse course, like North Carolina.

Well, I'm hoping people in the future judging this Georgia bill are smart enough to understand requiring voter ID isn't suppression.

There is no right side of history, that's a stupid phrase leftist like to use to do their favorite thing - convincing themselves they are better than anyone who doesn't agree with whatever they think today.

There is only history. When Rome fell, it wasn't because it was on the wrong side of history. Events happen without regard to right or wrong, or political convictions.

I think I follow your message DD but I do not necessarily agree that ‘right’ never has anything to do with it.

The US didn't beat the Japs in WWII because we were on the right side of history. We beat them because we had twice the population, a staggering advantage in industrial capacity, and access to all the raw materials and oil we needed. Same exact reasons why the North won the the Civil War.

Were all the leftists who clamed in 2007 that the 2nd Amendment meant, checks notes, that the government could have guns, but not the people, on the Wrong Side of History!!! No, they had 4 votes on the Supreme Court, and Roberts hadn't yet turned into a complete bed wetting coward.

First you win. Then you claim you won because you were right. It's not a new concept.

So were/are the lib's heroes Mao, Stalin, Lenin, Che, Chavez, and Maduro on the right side of history? I know we can't ask 200 million dead people, but maybe we could poll the current inhabitants of socialist and communist countries.

WW2 is a lot more complex than that. China greatly outnumbered Japan, yet Japan absolutely mopped the floor with the Chinese. Japan outnumbered us at certain crucial battles, yet we won when it counted. Japan couldn’t get enough oil and rubber from Indonesia because we sank so many of their merchantmen.

But I would agree that being the good guys generally isn’t what wins wars, and being the bad guys isn’t what loses wars.

When I hear someone say “The arc of history bends towards justice,” I say “You obviously haven’t studied much history. The arc of history bends towards tyranny.” We’re in a rare and unusual oasis of freedom in a world history dominated by tyranny. And that includes today.

The Braves may have some new fans this year. And they might lose some. They’re not my team, whatever some politician in Atlanta does.

There’s more to right winning than wars but ok DD I won’t or don’t argue your points. And no, I don’t portend that ‘right’ always wins.

Liberals won’t. They simply judge minorities of being too dumb or incapable of thinking or doing for themselves. The racism is ironic.

NFL salary cap will increase to $198.2M in 2020

you guys are killing the NFL. Pour one out for Joe.

“... it will be the seventh consecutive season in which the salary cap has risen by $10 million or more. The cap stood at $188.2 in 2019.”

    Oh what could have been......

According to an Oct. 12 article by John Ourand of sportsbusinessdaily.com, NFL television ratings are down 10 percent from last year, and NBC’s Sunday Night Football is down 14 percent from just one year ago. However, Monday Night Football ratings are up a percent through the season’s first four weeks.

    ID is needed to:
    - board a plane
    - buy alcohol
    - buy a gun
    - drive a car
    - go to the doctor
    - check into a hotel

but requiring one to vote is racist?

MLB is withering on the vine. 2020 was the least watched world series of all time and drew less than a quarter of the viewers they had in the 70s. Alienating their dwindling viewer base seems like a great business strategy.

The problem is one for when TV contracts come up for renewal and viewership is down. More than 50% of their revenue comes from this source alone plus corporate sponsors. As is, it’s not a very sustainable business model. Trying to alienate a falling fan base for political reasons is suicide.

Vol Horn 4 Life Good Bye To All The Rest!

I've said it probably a million times. The sooner athletes and sports in general realize they are nothing more than a paid form of entertainment the better for all. I stopped watching the NBA, MLB and NFL 20+ years ago mostly because of the public fight over billions of dollars while I was making $10hr trying to survive. I thought it was in poor taste to the average fan. I generally would watch the playoffs and championship games/series just because. But now I have absolutely ZERO interest watching any of that crap because of the political statements being made. I'm not trying to "cancel" anything I just don't care and spend my time doing other things that don't bother me.

I didn’t call you a racist, you did. I’m saying the narrative that voter ID is racist is demeaning to black people.

    You also called them dumb.

It's astounding that the same folks who argue that blacks are too poor or too lazy to get a government issued ID get to pretend to be morally superior to others.

I'm certainly done with watching any pro sports or attending any games now. I quit watching the Cowboys a few years back and now I'm done watching the Astros or attending games.

If a person is so irresponsible they can't even get an ID they certainly don't deserve the right to vote. And the excuses the libs make or worse than couldn't get to the bathroom to use the toilet. If they could legalize voting rights for every democratic voter in South America they would do it. We know the real deal.

Does anyone want to work with people not responsible enough to get an ID? If they're not responsible enough to get an ID what else will they do? Run over you with a forklift? Leave electrical wires on the floor so you can trip, get electrocuted? Turn a mixer on while someone is inside cleaning it? Yes, I've seen the the last one happen and it certainly wasn't pretty.

Good question. MLB seems to be doing it on its own volition. There didn’t seem to be any direct pressure on them. I wonder how that makes the Braves feel? Do the Braves need to leave the evil state of Georgia?

I think MLB needs to make a real statement. Cancel all MLB games in Georgia until the law is changed. Might as well do it in the other states with the same laws. The Rangers and Astros can just stay on the road all year.
