And he didn't even realize it.

Last night Obama tells us that the greatest contributor to our debt and deficit spending is healthcare. For one moment let us forget that that is a complete lie, and just for the sake of this little exercise it is true. At the moment our greatest deficit spending is on healthcare, but the government is only at the moment responsible for Medicare (set to go unfunded/bankrupt in 2017) and Medicaid. So Obama proposes as a solution to take over all healthcare? Huh? Lets use a separate example to drive home the absurdity of his statements and presentation in which he is asking the American people to surrender their health care to him.

Imagine if you will a bankrupt oil company with about 5,000 employees. Imagine the CEO coming to the employee meeting and telling everyone the greatest cost increases for the company going forward are G&A (salaries, office space, etc). That would be a lie because everyone would know that the greatest expense is really drilling and exploration costs. So as a solution he proposes that they begin paying the G&A costs of EVERY company in America.

Wouldn’t you think the fact that the two health plans the government currently runs rather poorly, and the fact that both are going to be bankrupt in the future would be a pretty clear indicator that the government should not be running ANY health plan? Good grief. I wonder if we are really this stupid, and wonder how in the hell this man can be this stupid. Then I recall George Carlin once told us “imagine how stupid the average American is, and not imagine half the people are more stupid than him.” God help us.

i guess no one here can make any sense of it either. not surprised. it simply doesn't make any sense. at least not the arguments he has been making for it. bottom line is we can't pay for it, and the two programs we already have do not work.

You could use the same logic to turn it around:
Say the current health care is too expensive. Then why would you want to keep the status quo?

I'm not saying you're wrong, since you haven't taken a stance except to complain about one of the options. But the only people agreeing with this illogical argument are those who already had this viewpoint.

healthcare is a viscious cycle of no-win scenarios. You try to reduce costs of healthcare itself, but the uninsured only drives costs back up. Yet, you can't insure the uninsured by driving us into debt, or taxing a select group to pay for it. And then yet, private insurance gets expensive as hell, because people also abuse it, taking unneccessary trips to a doctor, for something like the sniffles.

Republican, Democrat, Independent, Socialist, Marxist, whatever you are ... healthcare will be broken no matter what you do, no matter what plan anyone ever comes up with. No system is perfect, no universal system is perfect (see Britain, France).

But calling healthcare the primary cause of our national debt? Truly laughable. Check the budget sheets. You can probably find several programs that run is much more into debt.

And yes, medicare/medicaid are shining examples of why government should not run healthcare programs.

obama did say that but I haven't hear anyone call him on it.Good point!!!

another thing obama said during the presser was he would make sure the middleclass didn't soley take on the burden of 1/3 of the cost of obamacare which is the first time obama has publically admitted he lied during his campaign and repeatedly since.

Obama:"The one commitment that I’ve been clear about is I don’t want that final one-third of the cost of health care to be completely shouldered on the backs of middle class families who are already struggling in a difficult economy.
And so, if I see a proposal that is primarily funded through taxing middle class families, I’m going to be opposed to that because I think there are better ideas to do it. "
    What happened to( from barackobama.com)
    Under the Obama Plan:
•Middle class families will see their taxes cut – and no family making less than $250,000 will see their taxes increase"

This barry is a lying POS.
