Off Topic: V-Ball Plays for Natty this Weekend

This is off topic but I thought everyone should know that the Texas women's'volleyball team will be playing for the national championship this Saturday at 7:00 central on ESPN2 against Kentucky.

Texas is going for its fourth NCAA title in volleyball (last title 2012). I am not sure the favorite but I suspect Texas. Last night #4 Texas beat #1 (and undefeated) Wisconsin 3-0.

Let's go Lady Longhorns light the Tower!!!

They crushed the Badgers.

 

Crushed is probably a bit too strong of a descriptor (it fits the 2nd set though), but they certainly never gave the Badgers much hope after the 1st set victory.

I like our chances against UK vs some Western school that hit magic.

 

Well, when you win best 3 out of 5 by 3-O, I call it crushed.

 

Fair enough.

 

UK is ranked #2, and Texas #4. Both teams have only one loss. UK's offense is statistically the best in the country.
If there were a betting line, it'd be very close, one way or the other. Might as well be a toss-up.

In any case, I know what I'll be doing Saturday night.

 

Not all that impressed by UK, but I admit I haven't watched a ton of their games. I will say the SEC as a whole is not a powerful VB conference so their stats may be inflated a bit.

 

I thought it was going to be a close game, but that the Horns could win it something like 3-2. But, our Women kicked their asses! Hope they do it again in the final.

 

Ugh. Kentucky is in the right place at the right time almost every time.

 

2nd and 3rd set Kentucky is clearly better.

 

It's like our girls are hitting it right at their defenders.

 

Bad missed serve to give Kentucky set point. We lose 3rd set. Must win 4 and 5.

 

I'm gonna want to fight someone by the time this is finished.

So far. Kentucky is EXCELLENT on defense.

 

Just listening to the announcers, it’s like there’s only one team involved here.

They have a lot of love for this Kentucky team but they are trying to hold it down and give Texas some credit.

It’s easy to not like Texas. The underling reason for fear and dislike is respect and envy. I think I even saw some down horns in the stands. That is not an area of the lower 48 with a lot of high IQ, and outside of basketball they don’t win much.

I will give them the award for the best looking volleyball team in the country.

 

Difficult for me to support a group that intentionally thumbs their nose at the EoT. Another "great" season for the perrenial, Close but no Cigar volleyball team. Typical SJW lack of intestinal fortitude. The EoT were upon them, and unsurprisingly they failed.

 

I cant disagree that our VB team is great at almost finishing but not quite getting the job done. Its quite frustrating.

 

Seem to lose to a once in a century team from the opposing program.

 

Well, I sure was wrong in my assessment. UK outplayed us both offensively and defensively.

 

Very disappointed but yes.
