If you've followed the NFL draft you can't have missed the Laremy Tunsil story. Some literally ruined this kid during the draft. This sent him tumbling from being a top 5 pick to #13. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/29/sport/laremy-tunsil-ole-miss-nfl-draft-twitter-hack/index.html First, someone posted a picture of Tunsil taking a bong hit with a rigged gas mask from Tunsil's personal twitter account. Then they used his instagram account to post pictures of text exchanges between Laremy and an Ole Miss assistant coach bickering about the final amount of $$$ to pay for Tunsil's mother's utility bill. That's a major NCAA violation for Ole Miss. Not sure if the kid was shell shocked or taking accountability but he admitted to both allegations on national TV. Rumors are that his Stepfather is the one that posted the incriminating evidence.
This draft features an amazing recruiting class at Ole Miss. SEC teams don't turn one another in, so it takes something like this to blow the lid off why all of a sudden folks were willing to seriously look at a team that had long been an SEC doormat.
ESPN will sacrifice Ole Miss and their high school coach to keep the NCAA away from Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge, and to help the cheaters in Knoxville rebuild to prominence.
http://www.cbssports.com/college-fo...my-tunsil-texts-are-real-still-investigating/ I see another SEC victory emerging. "Plausible Deniability" is a wonderful thing. Just ask Auburn and A&M about lawyering up and keeping Heisman winning quarterbacks eligible.
The more interesting piece: Freeze's lawyers have requested the coach not be deposed by the court for the lawsuit, which deals with a domestic dispute between Tunsil and Miller. With Ole Miss under investigation by the NCAA, Freeze doesn't want to be put on the stand and deal with any questions that may relate to the investigation. Hopefully the Judge is a Mississippi State guy.
Ole Miss did the infamous "we are punishing ourselves to avoid a more detailed investigation" action today: http://espn.go.com/college-sports/s...-double-digit-reduction-football-scholarships Note that this doesn't consider the Tunsil revelations on Draft Day that the Ole Miss coaching staff was paying his mother's utility bills.
I was thinking that Hugh Freeze or somebody connected with the current staff originally said all the violations occurred before his watch... well looks old Houston Nutt didn't take to that very well a few months ago: http://bamahammer.com/2016/02/04/houston-nutt-says-ole-miss-deflecting-on-ncaa-violations/ "Former Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt all but says that Ole Miss is lying when they say that the NCAA violations that they are currently being investigated for happened under his watch." It seems to me that the initial Ole Miss reaction to the accusations should be enough to nail their *** to the wall given it's that it's all true now and that much of it did happen under Freeze. Ole Miss has the Baylor disease; save the coach so we can win... Victory over honesty.... money over integrity... it's pathological. These are not mentally healthy people. We have to start looking at this level of ambition and dishonesty as some sort of mental illness. These are not people we should admire. Their "inspirational" speeches are only the product of deep-set narcissism and salesmanship. It's not real...
