Eileen Gu is the poster child for a new type of Chinese athlete. But one wrong move could send her tumbling - CNN

The Chinese get it. They know that these diasporas at best, promote dual loyalties and at worst, are breeding grounds for internal advocates for foreign nations.

We should not allow "Dual Citizenship" and our immigration policy should be substantially more restrictive. It is no accident that many of our most vocal "citizens" regarding immigration and foreign policy are 1st or 2nd generation immigrants. Instead of a melting pot requiring assimilation and allegiance, we have such large diaspora communities they become "little Somalia's" inside the US and very actively promote Somali interest instead of US interest. And the same can increasingly be said of many other immigrant communities.

It is no accident that most of the most vocal advocates for Mexican immigration have Mexican surnames as well.

I firmly believe that this woman did this for money. It is much more profitable to be one of the few celebrities in China Olympics and have 1 Billion followers than to be one among many in the US and have only millions of followers. I am really starting to hate this aspect of the Olympics.

China does not allow dual citizenship so hasn't Gu renounced her US citizenship? No doubt she's doing it for money, but she ain't going to get help from the US should the Chinese government get sick of her.

If she wins the gold medal, she should very publicly do her post-Olympics victory lap vacation in Taiwan.
