Just saw on CNN the Lake Highlands HS Valedictorian speaking out against the heartbeat bill is headed to the 40 acres in the fall.
She will be easily able to continue her indoctrination here. I doubt she will show any inclination towards becoming educated though.
At one point in my life, I hoped my kids and grandkids went to Texas. I actually discourage people about attending now.
Is she really going to UT? I sorta wonder if antics like this are actually a hustle to gain notoriety and enhance her prospects of going somewhere else. It worked for David Hogg. The dude got into Harvard with a mediocre SAT.
I wonder how many times David Hogg has laid in bed at night secretly thanking Nikolas Cruz for making him famous.
Pretty uppity of her to think she could say something beyond the usual trite commencement gibberish just because she graduated at the top of her class. Kids these days. When I was at UT we were all well behaved and limited ourselves to the occasional riot or occupying the regents office like the nice folks we all were I don’t agree with her position but think she made a smart decision re universities. People like her don’t fit in with the herd at that trade school on the Brazos
My wife who is a 3rd generation UT grad actually said a few days ago she felt like right now aggy more identifies with her than UT. I about choked. She then clarified except for the cult behavior and sheep issues. The sentiment of disgust where the administration is leading this university is real. Sooner or later all of the BMD's will die out and we will only have liberal arts graduates with degrees that mean nothing. Its just a matter of time. Then they will all philosophize about where all the UT wealth went yet accomplish nothing.
I'm also surprised CNN didn't ask her why she feels like her life is more important than innocent little children.
It's a thing right now. Two years ago a girl 2 doors down graduated with honors, had schollie offers from several Universities. Her dad is (was) a Longhorn fan so she was an Orangeblood and strongly favored UT. She took her visits and her dad told me "Dad, I don't think I'd fit in here" when they went back for a 2nd visit. He concurred. She'll be a Junior at Baylor next fall. Green and gold banner flies in their yard after 22 years of burnt orange and white. We're losing our base one year at a time. FYI, she preferred ANM over UT as well. Talking about a very level headed kid with her future planned. Not some ditzy kid.
Two of my kids went to UNT, one to Sam Houston. Two of the three were automatic qualifiers for UT based on class rank, the third was barely outside. Neither Mrs. Sangre nor I worried for one moment that our children weren't following us to the 40 acres. The place hasn't completely gone to hell yet, but it is rapidly heading that direction, much like the city in which it is located..
She and all those who think like her should get lots of abortions. Better they don't have any children anyway.
My daughter always planned on Texas. After one visit, said this isn’t for me. Graduated last month with a 3.98 from a small Christian university and started her career two weeks later.
