If I wanted to buy a generator that could power a couple of TVs at a tailgate party, and maybe a blender or CD player, too, what size would I be looking at?

To be certain, you really need to know the power requirements for each of the items. Should be printed along with the model number and serial number somewhere on the item. Could be listed as amps (A) and/or watts (W).

Don't know output but I bought one at an auto stores for under $500 that powers TV, SAT, and a couple of crock pots with no problem. Only drawback is it is really loud and we need to put it about 50 feet from the tailgate. The quiet models are much more expensive!

Robert's is as quiet as a mouse and does pretty well. I have no idea as to the specs. It's a yamaha, IIRC.

Costco is selling one right now for about $500 that is an off-brand, but has a yahama engine.
