I think it is wrong to say you fear what you value. And I think timelines are important considerations as well. In the long run the economic and personal freedom we give our citizens is the best and right way, but in the short run central planning can lead to greater efficiencies and outcomes. Eventually, their style fails. However, there are efficiencies/advantages to central planning and central banking and as long as the powers that be are making good choices, central planning can lead to faster/greater outcomes. The problem with central planning is that over the long run, central planning inevitably leads to some wrong decisions because the point inevitably becomes the perpetuation of the elite/ruling class rather than the best interests of the country. But to the extent that the elite can find a way to put their personal desires for glory aside and focus on country then it can be efficient. It just rarely works out that way, and eventually bad decisions by the elite lead to bad outcomes for the public and then when the public loses faith and revolts, that's when socialism and communism show their true stripes and attempt to quell dissent with a very heavy hand. The harder the elite cling to their power and authority, the worse the outcomes for the rank and file. The problem with supporters of these philosophies is they all believe they can build a better mousetrap and avoid that last stage. But that is the very thing that causes the eventual collapse....the "I'm smarter than all of you put together" approach to governing.

Not for nothing, large governments are not the only examples of this process and failure. In many ways some corporations in the US are examples of this cycle as well. Leaders that make siloed decisions, and then when the decision is wrong, they use tricks and the blame game to hide their bad decisions and ultimately make worse decisions trying to escape the blame for the initial bad decision.

They shouldn't use it in negotiations, and far left Democrats shouldn't use it to leverage a spending bill. Ideally, there should be a standalone debt ceiling bill, which should easily pass. After that passes, then they can haggle over spending priorities.

And I'm not sure what Trump is suggesting they negotiate for. When he was president, we spent like drunken sailors. He's not the example to follow.

Maybe not generally but in this case yes. If you think central planning is valuable then you will fear the China's capabilities.

Also, I am talking about medium to long term issues, I think we agree.

Just admit it. You don't like freedom, the Constitution, or Jesus.

Prager U is a psuedo-intellectual content publisher with some very extremist views. I got a chuckle at this:

Bad point SH. The Communist PhD actually just showed his hand too. The Prager U comment is assuming that America isn't racist that it is a beneficial place with a good set of values. You have to believe everything about America is racist to either make his statement or to affirm. I know you don't think everything about America is racist. A bit surprised you made this point.

Isn't the inverse also true of PragerU? You have to believe racism doesn't exist or didn't have any role in our founding? Clearly you're aware centuries of racist laws that took centuries to remove. Heck, Alabama is just now removing racist language from their State Constitution. I don't believe "everything about America is racist" and I suspect neither does that PHD dude but to assume it wasn't present at our founding and still have some impact is being guilty of what you are accusing the PHD.

No. It isn't. The point was that CRT aims to overthrow the whole country and society. It was a valid point. BLM and Antifa are for that because they think all of America is racist not that there were racist things. Whites are racist by virtue of being white, and all that.

But the Prager U quote doesn't assert the things you are asserting about them. That was my point.

Alabama was not one of the Original 13 and there is nothing inherently racist in the United States Constitution or the Declaration of Independence.

That things may have occurred in a different era that are inconsistent with the community 'standards' of today does NOT make that earlier period of time an era in which everything was racist. The CRT idiots are the USA equivalent of the Taliban and the efforts to erase everything they don't like from history.

Yep, it is almost as if the left decides to forget about that chapter of 2020, to say nothing of the billions in property damage caused by the Burn Loot Murder chapters around the country.

That's some Olympic level spin for a faceplant post by a former Trump press secretary. We're just commenting on the post by Kayleigh. If you want to talk about "billions in property damage caused by the Burn Loot Murder chapters around the country" I'm sure there a some sources to cite and threads to add them to on West Mall.

So antifa democrats and libs protesting (i.e. burning a courthouse) the death of a drug addict with a heart condition are also Hells Angels members despite no mention of Hells Angels in any article? Who would of thunk it?

Next, you'll be blaming Biden's abandonment of American citizens in a war zone on climate change.

Way to demonstrate that you are just a troll who willingly posts fake tweets. You do little to dispel the belief that you lap up whatever the MSM shoves into your empty head.

The ;) was intended to point to it being a fake tweet. It was funny given Gaetz current legal problems.

If not for the ;) than any visit to r/totallyrealtweets would show that they it's a subreddit devoted to funny but fake tweets.

This dude soooooo wants to be powerful. He'll literally do anything for power. Cawthorn is coopting the religious right the way Al Sharpton does minorities. For you religious folks the phrase "beware false prophets" comes immediately to mind for this Representative.
