My read-between-the-lines breakdown of the press conference is that Coach Strong has no expectation of winning this game. The goal is to make sure we don't get embarrassed. Does that sound about right to anyone else?

It doesn't sound right, but I forgot about the presser [IMG]

After preaching to Goodell about honesty, least he's staying true to his word and calling it like it is. [IMG] We are over-matched in so many individual competitions within this game it's not funny. Line opened yest around +13 in several sportsbooks. Today almost all have jumped 3 points to +16. Anything under 2 TD's was play of year so far hate to say.

Would Doctor Lou at Notre Dame have taken a different approach?

Would not the Doctor have built up the other team as much?
-- they're two touchdown favorites? They deserve to be. (said Charlie)

Strong went on and on about how the Horns will have to play a near-perfect game to stay in this thing.

Doctor Lou, Doctor Lou... Doctor Lou.

Wow, how the mighty have fallen. I never thought I would see the day where the University of Texas' head coach was just hoping you guys don't get blown out at home by Baylor. Ouch.

You would think the Aggies had won a conference title more recently than 1998 or a Coalition/Alliance/BCS/New Year's 6 bowl victory (I do not know what we are to call elite bowl games anymore) since 1988.

A&M has been high in weekly poll rankings and public perception but they still have no championship hardware to show for it.

Their biggest accomplishment has been beating #11 OU in the cotton bowl, a tier 2 bowl at the time. That same season we beat #13 Oregon State in the alamo bowl which had been moved up to a tier 2 bowl at the time.

Texas still has more conference titles since 1998, 3 victories in elite (BCS) bowls and 4 appearances.

Baylor has the exact same amount of conference titles since 1998 and as many appearance as A&M in major bowls.

A&M has 3 top 5 finishes in school history:
    2012: 5th
    1956: 5th
    1939: 1st

Not going back to all of UT history but just Mack Brown's top 5 finishes:
    2009: 2nd
    2008: 3rd
    2005: 1st
    2004: 4th
    2001: 5th

Only aggy would run its mouth off after a close Chick-fil-a bowl victory over #21 Duke and one top 5 finish since 1956.

Yes A&M is highly ranked now but A&M also was highly ranked in 2011 and last year before losing 4 or more games. Come talk trash when y'all actually win something.

Freaking Missouri has won more SEC division titles than A&M and as many Cotton Bowls so A&M is not even the most successful new SEC team.

I remember when aggy got beat by a ****** baylor team and Dave South had a mini stroke at the end of the game and couldn't speak

I wasn't coming here to talk trash. All I was saying is that I am amazed that a Texas coach is focused on not getting killed by Baylor. It really has nothing to do with A&M.

    thanks.
    very timely

and Kenny Hill said that after their bye week the aggs were going to go back to doing what they had been doing.

I guess he forgot the 3 in a row losses.
Or maybe he knows something after all [IMG]
