Lovely woman and a true actress. Very different personalities in the Dick Van Dyke Show and Mary Tyler Moore Show. She portrayed a less than loveable character in the movie Ordinary People, maybe the best family drama ever made.
Besides the usual accolades, what I really liked about The MTM Show was that it was not set in New York or Chicago. That is very rare in sitcoms (at least those that are not animated), even today. It was really rare in 1970.
My era. Loved her, a beautiful, special woman, perfect for her time, Meryl Stree et al, eat your heart out.
