I guess a list like this will always have omissions but jeez! Really?

 

Grossly underrated--Lightnin’ Hopkins: a top 10-15 level guitarist who did not even make the list.

Other underrated guys who did not make the list—Terry Kath, Roy Clark, Ron Wood.

 

Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani

 

Agree Terry Kath and Ron Wood should be on that list.

Hard to pick a #1 but it would have to be Clapton for me.

Roger McGuinn of the Byrds and his 12 string Rickenbacher would be in my top 3.

 

There are a lot of 60s-70s rock guitarists I like, but I don't really a favorite: Hendrix, Clapton, Alvin Lee, Leslie West, Pete Townshend just to name a few.
