My hope is that Bama jumps his pay up to an astronomical level. Then the SEC follows the aggies and Auburn to run more wide open offenses that light up the scoreboard on Bama.

 

I guess being HC at Texas would be a nice break for Nick.

I'd laugh if Saban did decide to come here. This board would melt down then get as hard as a senior on Viagra when he got us in the top 5 in two years.

 

What kind of “pressure” could Saban be getting at Bama?

I would love to see the guy spend his last five or so professional years here and cement his legacy as the best ever.

Is Alabama under investigation? I'm not aware of any infractions nor investigations. I know, they just know how to cover it up better than most and it'll come out after he leaves.

 

Vol, I suggest some quick googling. Latest investigation involves TJ Fluker from Bama. Mo Couch, the only player still in college, from TN Vols, was suspended permanently from college football a month or so ago. It's part of the investigation ongoing. I looked to see if it was resolved but did not find anything right off.

There was the textbook scandal that encompassed both Saban and the previous coach as well as other programs. They forfeited 21 games under both Saban and Shula.

Go look up probations for Michigan State keeping in mind that fallout after he left with his guys continued. Jeff Smoker, look into that.

Then LSU, so on, so forth. Just google.

He's not like a Switzer or Sherrill as far as I know but it's uncanny that things tend to follow him around in his generally short tenure at a school.

This could cost me fifty bucks, dammit.

Texas fans want to win as badly as Alabama fans want to win. The difference is that Saban likely wouldn't come home in Austin to find someone hung his pet from a tree with the sign saying "you're next" if he lost to Oklahoma.

 

Sometimes when I feel like killing someone, I do a little trick to calm myself down. I'll go over to the persons house and ring the doorbell. When the person comes to the door, I'm gone, but you know what I've left on the porch? A jack-o-lantern with a knife stuck in the side of it's head with a note that says "You." After that I usually feel a lot better, and no harm done.
