Obama's advice to Lebron James As much as I hate athletes and celebrities telling my what my politics should be, I think I hate politicians spouting their views in sports even more. What gets me even more is that I doubt the President went out of his way to make these comments but probably just innocently discussing with reporters.
The only difference between Obama and every poster on "On the Field" or "Basketball" here on HF is- that he is POTUS and did it offline. He loves the Bulls and he gave an opinion I'm sure a lot of Bulls fans have.. he probably should have been more discreet about it of course given who he is.
Mcbrett, that is why I put it on the media. Is the current president anymore of a sports fan than the last two? Bush and Clinton were both huge sports fans but we never got this much into their teams, hell other than Clinton being a Arkansas basketball fan I'm not sure I know what teams either of the other two preferred. Maybe that was their doing, or maybe it was the press I don't know.
Hey, at least he named some of the Bulls players, that's an upgrade from the last time he commented on sports. As long as he's for a college football playoff, I'll stay behind him.
Ditto that. I tend to hate just about every socialist rant from this guy's mouth, but I really don't see anything wrong here.
I guess to me its a media thing that drives me nuts. If I was a reporter following the white house I think I'd love to sit down and have a normal conversation with the president about sports, but I don't think I'd turn it into an article.
Lobbying for James to go to chicago is ok Taking another shot at Arizona during a Marv Albert interview is pretty unpresidential but nothing new from this guy. Unless of course Arizona is not one of HIS 57 states.
