Pulled pork sammiches on toasty buns Broccoli slaw Some other stuff to be decided ** like deviled eggs made with jalapeno mustard Gingerbread crust cheesecake Found a crazy easy pulled pork recipe with good reviews, so I made enough for a couple of meals. Cooked about 5-6 lbs of shoulder on low in slow cooker with a couple cans of root beer. (about 10 hours while we slept) Drained the meat this AM, pulled out the bones and the fat chunks, added about 1.5 bottles of Stubbs spicy BBQ sauce and some dried minced onion and returned to slow cooker for another hour or so on low. Smells good.
Brisket went in the smoker this morning. Baby backs go in at noon. After those go on, I'll make the patties for the sliders and put some steak seasoning on them and give them time to soak it in. Fry some bacon for the sliders, then start cooking the sliders in the bacon grease right before kickoff. Friends are bringing potato salad and a green salad (for the girls). I think they're bringing tamales too. And some kind of dessert. We have a birthday cake for my son's girlfriend. And lots of chips and dip. And beer, lots and lots of beer. Hurray beer!
